Fair cold mor/Fair/Fair/Fair Cold morning mild day John & I went to river nailed boat & put on seet & went to traps saw 3 white ducks with black heads Old Uncle Baylor came to bring me some tar got 1 gallon of him pd him 50 cts borrowed 25 of John – to pay him – I went to L Terrells to see him about oats asked 42 cts a bu Lewis Terrell was there I saw Otho & Byron he asked 40 cts Savery was there Jennet came to get John & I to make coffin for his child he went to mill for me & to Hewletts to see if ruster c. for John – Jas ploughing for oats Iry trim banks -

Cdy mild d/Cdy/Fair/Cdy I went to Carmel Bro Riggan preached Bro Sam was at meeting – I pd 25 cts for Sexton Mongumry Burruss put down $3 to sexton. Gwinnet came up on cars this morning no not where. Lizzie & child came this morning – Jas gone to Hanover this evening Iry went to his meeting to day – Mrs Southworth came this evening for saled Jas ploughing for oats. Fair windy & cold/Fair/Fair/Fair I went to Mrs Southworths for oats got 12 1/2 bu pd Otho $5.00 for them John & I put keel on boat & pitched it some & went to traps caught a m. rat sat a trap for duck Lizzie E came for her letter I went to Hewletts to get a ruster for John black pd $3.30 cts express got 2 letters & papers for J. Jas ploughing by ivy hill Iry clearing off swamps etc I saw 2 wild goblers in w. f.

Fair cold morning/Fair/Fair mild/Fair The ground hard frozen I carryed out a bag Oats for Jas & Sowed them on swamp near rock spring below Jas Sowed some I put out blue hen with 14 chickens hogs ate 2 put them in Johns Lot. John & I went to traps I caught a large koon by foot nocked him in head moved 2 traps above brought one home I gave Thomasia 13 eggs she carryed 2 1/2 dozen to cedar fork this evening Fannie rode up & sat a while I bated turkeys in wheat patch

I got a postal from Harriet for Thomasia – Lizzie & children went home this evening Thomasia went with them saw turkeys tracks on river hird Cousin Billy Day was dead. got 3 letters f. John. Jas ploughing by island. Iry grubing

Iry & I commenced his house put 2 cedar logs at bottom put rocks at corners etc etc Lizzie came to day for salled

She & Otho came to night to sit till bed time Iry & I worked on his house a little sawed logs etc I hirt my hip to night John made 2 fishing poles to day. I saw a shower bull frogs in L Terrells

Emma came to help Thomasia in garden Lizzie & children came this morning I carryed a letter & money to Landora for Mrs England for hir calf they were getting there dinner. rode Johns horse covered turnips & beets set out for seed put manure out of Johns stable in garden.

I got a postal for Sorney & letter for Mrs Edinson & Jenny. John & I went to boat landing bote was lodged up tree & bank put in river I put a hen & chickens out to day 12. Luty & boy went off twice to day.

Emma & Elizza came got turnip salled Fannie & boy came up this morning & stayed till 12 or 1 ock. hen setting in coop shelter 16 Eggs. Robinson gone north.

Lem Luck at meeting has been halling logs from slash.

I dined at Prov with Fannie to day brought up some onions etc Tho got letters from H. L. & G – planted 4 rows irish potatoes in garden Jas ploughing Iry grubing etc calf soled for $6.00

Fair cold/Fair morning/ a L Cdy/Fair The thermometer was down to 26 or 7. this morning I worked on cabin notched all logs there – sent to look for turkeys nest. Shelled one bushel corn & over Mrs Southworth came & brought 2 lbs butter pd her 50 cts for it to sent to Ann Thomasia went to Jennets to git Eggs & see E. stoped at Saverys he gave her 1/2 do herrins – I put out big brown hen with 14 chickens to day under work bench Jas ploughing in pasture Iry grubing etc went to Jennets John went fishing caught a few fish. this evening. Sandy came by to leave card to go to Hewletts.

Fair mild day/Fair/Fair/Cdy I carryed corn to mill 1 1/2 bu started to Huletts with a box for Ann turned over on bridge broke buggy a little the cushion fell in water got boat & caught it I gave Havlock some potatoes sweet for Dr Lin. carryed letters & money over for John & got several for him. pd 30 cts freight for box pd 9 cts for cotton. sent $3.50 cts in letter for John for Eggs. n. . k – Sorney came up I went to his house to look at his hay offered it for $1.22 cts Wm Buckhannon ploughing at Anna. Jas ploughed in morning or started went to Saverys for his wagon halling rails to make hog pen above spring – Sandy came with the Boy for Lilly & left him. Thomasia carryed him home this evening. Otho came for 1/2 bu sweet potatoes for his mother Tho gave her I went to river hird some one hollowing saw 4 or 5 wild turkeys hanover. Tho got a gallon vinegar Mrs S. pd 25 cts for it – I saw 2 rain boughs to night -
