Fair cold mor. pretty day/Fair/Fair very cold/Fair The wind was at east soon worked around to South before night going north wes I went to Hewletts in wagon for a box that came from Richmond Harriet – Saw Judge Redd at Hewletts I got 48 cts worth sugar carryed 2 1/2 lbs butter for Lizzie & 1 1/2 dozen Eggs had 1/2 broken brought them back again got things for John carryed check $5.00 laid out one Mr Ware went with Sam to Bro Saml. Fannie & Mr Smith came up to spend day Sandy came Lizzie & child went home with Sandy – I saw snow on flats cars at Hewletts.

I helped John McLA to cut doar out & check doar to feed room Jas came with a lode shucks & brought a ruster & box for John we hird a noise alike Earth quake to night. Otho came to night to bring a postal from Capt Addams & a note from Cary to Jas very cold this morning. cold day. horses did not come up to

Savery went to Hewletts snow has melted very little for several days. passd ice about from 4 to 6 inches.

Ct House – Mr Jas Smith & Cary came this evening & stayed till nearly 8 ock & returned Bro Saml is poly with coal

Fair mild day/Fair/Fair/Fair Thomasia & John went to Providence came back about 1/2 pass 1 ock Jas carryed Luty cedar fork & went to Mrs Digs looking for corn went to Worthams etc did not get any I went to traps caught a hair bated 2 or 3 traps with hair one or 2 with rats sat up mash-trap at island I saw some ottoe [otter] tracks etc etc Byron brought a clock for John to fix gave him Mrs S. spade. Lizzie came this evening & returned pretty soon cutting wood cleaned the spring out – found a box trap near boat Landing -

I went to Jennets for Emma. did not come went to see Moriah – Sims she came to night to help clean fowl killed 20 of mine turned out 8 or 10 – Susan Buckhannon came this morning. Sam sent for her this evening by Les – John came this evening from King Wm. Jas halled a lode tags to stable halled some post for John to make lot for fowls – cutting wood etc etc

Rain snow 1 1/2 in/Rain/Cdy/Cdy Snow melting quite fast slopy cutting wood I carryed horses to water & crossed swamp at ivy hill caught a mink in box trap drowned him in trap – Moriah Sims came up to bring clothes John opened & wheted my wood saw this evening sawed wood I sat mash trap in corn house
