Fair cool day/Fair/Fair frost/Fair I made hills for butter beens & symblains sat 3 steel traps at ivy hill for halks Savery came by he went to se Jas Smith he planting corn on river saw 2 or 3 wild geese in river – I went to plant bed Hanover fly is eating the plants I rubed up some tobacco to sow on plants. planted cymblains 3 kinds & my kind of corn flinty in garden for roster [roasting?] years

Cdy frost/Rain moderate/Cdy/Cdy I carryed tobacco dust to plant bed West field sowed it carryed lime etc & covered it with cedar brush Mr Smith finished planting corn Lem Luck planting by boat landing spring & peach orchard Saw Savery on flat he found my S. driver I moved steel trap to duck nest sat 2 traps for suck Egg dog – saw dog to night hird one growl. Lem dog threw one of my traps sat for a halk. Sandy came to day went to Hewletts for a bag for Mrs Dervin Savery brought 2 letters one from H Ann Texas. Otho came by says his grand father had a fall & was quite poly cows are in pines to night Sandy carryed Carry & buggy home to plough planted butter beens

Fair cool day/Fair/Fair/Fair Lilly Cow has a male calf Lem Luck & I went to look at her old Bro Luck came to spring & returned Lem finished planting corn by spring & went home he put some corn in corn house years, Lem Luck & I put up too logs on house I notched & skined them Lizzie England came down this morning for some potatoes got a few - & returned G went to Edge Hill [plantation house near Woodford, Va.] Effie came back with her this evening & returned

I made 15 or 20 hills etc Came to hive a swarm beas – Jennet dined & fed his horse & left – Sandy E ploughed potatoe patch near spring Sandy has not gotten hear to night Lizzie & child & I went to Providence this evening, on my way to Carmel (1/4 ly) meeting Bro Saml was at Providence Otho & he went with me down to Carmel pd 30 cts for painting house Elected Bro Moncure Superentennant at Carmel Bro Trainham his assistant Jenny Lamby was hear this evening S.S. to commence tomorrow at Carmel

Organised the scool Bro Moncure was Superentennant gave me 5 or 6 scollars Dr Dickinson conducted prayer meeting – Sandy Gwinnet & I went to Cedar fork s.s. but few persons most went to Warlers to the dedication we took note to move back to the old scool house. Thomasia & S went to Mrs S. stoped there with John E. Sam & Sue wer there Sandy & 2 Miss Englans came in morning they went to Landora

Cdy/Rain a L/Rain thunder etc/Rain I planted 65 hills watermellon s & made 25 holes for more Sandy & Lizzie went to Mrs Dervins for there things & brought them Sandy ploughed pea patch & watermellon patch by walnut trees in corn field I planted peas & opened holes for w mellons Sandy & I put up a log on house I notched it in etc Lesly S. came for peas to day. put Carry in pasture did not find her to night. I put out one of Johns hens with chickens 11 or 12.

Mr Jas Smith & Brother came over for some Eggs of Linnies. got 4 & returned S & I went to river with them river is rising threw water out of boat L went to Mrs S. & returned sat out some tomatoes plants & Cymblains one

Sandy ploughing by stable shed he went to Spicers to night cutting wood etc put young ruster in hen house to n Sandy went to Hewletts carrryed 5 dozen Eggs & got molaces thread etc got a pair shoes $1.25 John E & L wer at turn out. I carryed a letter to H for John & Jas.

Fair thundered/Rain/Rain a good d. I went in buggy to Providence for cabbage plants I got some plaster etc etc I sat out 3 roughs of plants made a hoe helv cut cedar tree horse rack out. Sandy went to Terells with 2 Buckhannons to hall sane. had very loud thunder etc etc Lizzie & G & child went to Mrs Lambies & back Mr Smith promised to send a lode slabs to scool house in morning.

Fair/Fair/a L cloudy/Fair I planted my seed potatoes one rough & piece made a bee hive got some nails of Mrs Savery Effie came with Gwinnet Mr Smith came this evening for a manure fork Sandy & I w. with him to west field plant bed Mr Preston S, sent a bee hive up to have bees put in. Sandy ploughing by stable Lem Luck came by for Eggs he is ploughing corn & reeplanting etc (and Spicers Thomasia went to Mrs Lambies this eve I plastered peas etc in garden & potatoe rough etc

Weeding irish potatoes etc etc Sandy Lizzie & Linnie gone to Msr Southworths tonight Bro Goodwin came to take the list of the propity I brought in 2 steel traps & sat 2 for moles – plastered things in garden & part.

Fair warm/Fair/Rain hard/Cdy I went to Bro Butzners for shoes he had not finished them had to weight for them he charges $ 75 cts or 1 dollar met Mr & Mrs Carson & Bro John Burruss he came by Carmel. came by Edmonds for ashes got ½ bu met Mr Smith Pres he had teeth knocked out colt at Edmonds – Sandy came home with meel gone to Landora for Gwano Jenny Lambie was hear this evening Bro Saml came over & brought a letter with money for Dr Dickinson from John McLA. I went up to the scool house cedar fork & fixed up 2 seets saw a Mr Carneel pass lives by Dr Gouldins he says Sister Sarah is bettter saw 3 hairs Mr S. rained very hard last night thundered etc etc

Bro Allensworth spoke John Noel was at meeting Sandy went to Old Mrs Englans Weltons are over Mr Smith was at S.S. met at John Goodins to try call etc etc Willy Walker was killed on cars I hear to day.

Simon carryed buggy to Landrum to mend. Sandy came tonight. picked plant bed Mrs E Mrs Welton at Saverys Fan gave us some potatoes irish – raining
