Cdy cool day/Hail/Hail/Cdy I went to traps caught a hair in new trap at rock & a m rat bated my traps with hair Lem Luck finished ploughing peach orchard Pertha & child & nurce came & spent the day John & I cut wood & halled it up. Les S came this evening with bundle for Pertha

Snow a L cold day/Fair/Fair/Fair I caught a large grey Fox in steel trap new by wheat patch in sight of house caught 3 m rats one black one John went to Bro Smiths. for Ruster went this evening to West-field Mr Smiths to stay all night Eliot & L Jackson came by brought a bundle from L England Linnie gone to Mrs Lambies We shelled a turn corn to night. Mony Penney was married to night to Mr Smith [Edmonia A. Penney and Littlebury A. Smith]

Fair cool day/Fair/Fair/Fair I went to Terrells mill with corn saw Tom Swann & Jas Peniton halling logs for house met Mr Oliver on his way hear – Buck ground corn I saw a duck in river John & Mr Smith came this evening brought Linnie some wings & fethers J. brought a ruster over cutting wood etc Lem Luck cleaning off ditch ploughing etc his father came by etc L came home

Cutting & halling wood etc Luck finished ploughing the  orchard in bottom etc

Fair mild d/Fair/Fair/Fair I caught a m-rat put handles in 2 rakes 2 teeth etc went to Hewletts for a letter registered with $1.00 in it for a setting of eggs – carryed a letter over got one for Tate at mill Edmond came this evening with a soar hand & returned to night Mrs S. came & brought a plate of salit etc I have a hen hatching halk caught a chicken John went to Sizers for a ruster to day Lizzie E came by went home this evening before breakfast I sat speckle hen to night

Fair cold mor/Fair/Fair/Fair I caught m rat in big steel trap moved 2 traps down to fishing hole in Mrs L Saw 5 or 6 ducks blue Thomasia & I planted 17 roughs of Early Rose potatoes in garden put straw on 3 row from walnut tree back of garden. Spicer brought my frow home Lizzie went to Mrs L got some onion cloves sat them out – Linnie gone to Landora to spend night Gwinnet went to Mr S for milk Lem Luck was helping Dick Coleman to plough to day cutting wood etc caught in trap he got out

Cdy cool d/Cdy/Rain/Rain I went to traps caught a moon-ack [groundhog] took in trap above island river has fallen a good deel Mr Jas Gilson came by to see about rocking in grave yard I put him across river. John came home & went to Mrs Southworths to night or this evening Jenny & girls came to see about Mr Gilson he scared Linnie at Prov Tom was riding around at Prov to day. cutting & halling wood etc etc

Showery/Rain hard/Cdy/Fair Very windy evening The Fox hunters ran a fox by tick spring had 15 or 20 dogs or more saw Gatewood 2 Southworths & others. I – caught a ground hog at ivy hill put out a speckle hen with 10 chicks 2 died. I cut down 2 pines on turn road cutting wood etc I threw the water out of my boat paddle went away – Sandy grubing a heavy rain

I threw water out of boat sat trap at ivy hill John & Sandy went up the river koon hunting killed 3 koons one sunk in river went again this evening & stoped up 2 in W field saw a deer track I caught a hair in steel trap & skined 2 koons. Harriet Linnie & children came up & spent day Lizzie E came & spent evening John E came by to night for her I notched one log in house Sandy saw deer & tryed to shoot him or her.
