Fair/Fair/Fair/Rain a L I patched Gwinnets shoe cousin Fannie went to scool w G. Linnie went to Mrs Lambies John went to Oppy – Gatewoods for my ruster he is gone to Mrs southworth to night – I cut wood caught a dog in trap & 2 m rats. one in little trap Mrs L & Bucks – 3 cows are in pasture wer hear last night

Rainy day/Rain/Cdy Rain/Rain Cdy I went to traps caught nothing 2 down cutting wood John came from Mrs Southworths to day. Thomasia made a coat for Jennet for spining wool 1 lb. I have a pain in my side to day.

I made a mink trap etc Linnie gone to Mrs Southworths to night I threw water out of boar river is up Savery came & borrowed mmy stylyads [steelyard is a straight beam balance scale] John brought them back saw his 2 new wagon Thomasia cut out my sack to day – [sack coat for informal ocasions]

Fair mild d/Fair/Fair Cdy/Rain I made a mash trap by boat Landing loar [lower] one There was an earthquake last night shook the house etc twice [just before midnight, the large shock was felt over some 50,000 square miles, including most of Virginia] I went to Hewletts bought a herring 2 cts box blacking 5 cts saw Mr Winston there 2 Cobb etc Sandy came from sale Phillips bought me a wood saw for 40 cts. Iry came to night with a hen & bag corn halk caught one of Johns hens got away I fixed blines rust & cleaned out hen house etc
