Fair cold morn/Fair/Fair/Fair very large frost caught a hair weighed 3 – hogs weight 315 lbs salted them in corn house went to E hill took down bricks – H & Jas gone to Mr Penneys to sit till bed time John gone hunting to night Mr McCaneday is moving to Anna Thomasia went to Mr P - & to Mrs Lambies Sale at Mrs Worthams to day – halled a lode wood etc Liz & Fan at Mr Porters -

Fair cold m/Fair/Fair/Fair We went to Mrs Cobbs after bricks took the chimney partly down halled 2 lodes left one in Mr S, ice pond – I went by E hill for ladder H & girls – at E hill Lizzie at Mr Poters – to night -. Edmond Lambie & 2 sisters to Cedar Vale to day -

Sue Biron Les 2 Miss Pennies & Cary & Sanders went to meeting – from hear – Boys went to Cobbs for a lode bricks – I gave a ball to Biron S.

Jas went to Dr Gouldins Jane came with the clothes Cary came to night Lizzie England & Lizzie Redd all going to Mr Southworths H went to Miss Addams. – Thomasia got a letter from Harriet Ann saying they will give us corn for one year & half of the hay we use for one year & 20 cows to milk

Bro S. went with me to Providence he brought the Dr a opossum we came home to night – John is from home I gave Chanler a list of his work gave a letter. . . to Bro R for Jeter & Dickinson

Fair cold d/Fair/Fair cold/Fair n Cold day snow fell Ύ of inch cold I went to Huletts for letters got 2 papers pd Mr Haines 5 cts postage for Herald. bought 2 neadles pd 2 cts. saw E Taylor Malery Lane etc at Huletts I went to Mrs Trainhams carryed my shoes to ½ sole by L Trainham went in harrises for my cows Edmond Redd came this evening boys gone down to night to make Egge nog – Mr Savory came to night to borrow a [byorger? big auger?] bought him cart & steers to day boys killed a hog turned out 2 – I saw Buckhannon

Fair very cold/Fair/Fair cold/Fair I made a mantle & put it up in log house. boys cut out the hog yesterday came home this morning cut 2 lodes wood one hickry very cold weather the river frozen over – Thomasia bound my sack coat – Lizzie went to Mr S, this evening Mr S. has not gotten back from orange gone a weak after turkeys

Fair cold day/Fair/Fair/Cdy Spent day at home H Liz, & Lin. went to Mrs Keniday, Mr Keniday came to night sat till bed time John shot last night & I got up looked around. The Spots wood Hotell burnt in Richmond burnt several persons 5 or 10 [Richmond Dispatch, Dec. 28, 1870. temperature was 5 degrees below zero; fire began in basement of 5-story building, at least 8 died. memorial at Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond]
