J & J killed 5 S. 2 Birds Nancy & Ballard came this evening I pulled a tooth for Emily Redd large one R Anderson got back Walter Luck is sdead killd [Walter T. Luck, 1843-1862; killed at Antitam 17 September 1862] H & E went to turn out {pulling fodder cuttin tops stacking etc

G., 30th Virginia Infantry] cary came over Sam & Eugene at home {cutting down corn by harness shop halling up shucking etc hallingtops wood etc
