Fair/Fair/Fair/ Cdy I dug some potatoes with Thomasia to day wed pepper etc in garden Thomasia went to Mr Cobbs to set up I went with her cousin Clarrence & Wm Topkins & Miss Ball came is hear to night Columbia went home & came back to night I rode her horse to Buster came for 1/2 bu potatoes pd 50 cts for them {ploughing corn by corn house weeding potatoes etc

I carryed Thomasia to L Cobbs to set up with Molly Cobbs Nil [Wil?] Noel is hear {ploughing corn a field halled a lode of clover hay weeding potatoes

Mr Smith at Mr Noels is dead a soulgier {ploughing corn potatoes peas etc weeding went to mill etc

Fair very warm/Fair/ Cdy /Fair I made a coffin for L, Cobbs daughter Mary [Mary Susan Cobbs, 1846-1862] John Tate came I pulled 2 teeth for him Mr Martin came & helped John Swann came & helped we went to L Cobbs & to Mrs Reynolds to burry [burying] sent to store for nails & screws 25 cts worth Emily Redd was at Anna, Mr Hanes came to clean out well [?] C went home {Bob ploughing potatoes & corn weeding cleaning out well

The Yankeys set Bever Dam on fire they passed 1 man 2 Horses [on 20 July 1862, a Federal raid destroyed Beaverdam Depot and captured Col. John Mosby]
