Fair cold/Fair/cdy/cdy A large frost cold morning  finished covering the ice house Chanler came about 9 ock worked till 1/2 an our by sun I walked to mill to see about – weather boarding saw Mr Longden Wm at mill Harriet & Liz came from Mr Suttons Thomasia & Liz went up this evening Anna Redd went to Mr S, she rode through the wheat patch horse mising etc both going & comeing Page Sutton went home {got Mr Southworths wagon & halling corn with cart etc cutting & halling wood Page Sutton & Edmond & Llewellyn went to Bro Saml,

Cdy/Rainy evening/cdy/Rain  Billy & Mercer came by went to Mr Harris I went to Edge Hill brought down my tools & timber out of shop. Finished halling the corn brought a lode from Blacksmiths shop I put the two buttons on doars & lock on safe Page & Llew went to Bro Saml yesterday came back this evening fox hunting Page went home to night Bob bit Liz in mouth. Mr Sutton had 6 flour barrells corn in years. {moving finished the corn sent Mr Southworths wagon home halling rock to Marthea, house etc cutting & halling wood packed up boards etc etc

Frost Fair cool/F/F./F.  I worked on ice house finished gradeing & soiling & turfing page sutton came to breakfast went with Edmond home he came back to dinner Llewellyn went up with him I went to mill to have a log sawed in weatherboarding for ice house. I saw Ct Buttler at mill Right Eliott Clark etc I made a han barrow Edmond carryed a dog over to his h {Fixing ice house turfing & filling it etc cutting & halling wood etc

Fair cold morning/F./cdy/clouding up  I went to Carmel Bro Poindexter was there had a conversation with the members I put down my name for $25.00 Bro Saml came by with me went to Anna. This evening. The Suttons wer hear Archy hear to night. Harriet & Lizzie went to Edge hill {shelled corn 1 1/2 bu sent to mill for Mr Taylor cutting & halling wood send 6 bu for self.

Cdy misty/cdy snowed a L/F. snowed a little at night/ F  I went to Carmel Bro Poindexter preached text Matthew 13 ct 24 to 30 verses but few persons Bro P came with Bro Addams he did not stay to meeting – Joseps T Terrell came this evening sent for Llewellyn at Mr Littons I hav hird that Silas Gouldin is dead lived a very short time a few days – the Dr G went to see him

Fair cold m/F/a little cdy/F  I had the barn cleaned out put garner [grain] up loft Brought down my little wagon Boys – pulled it down I put it in the Barn- Mr Sutton gave me his bond with his wife & Mr Samuel security to bond, - saw Mrs Sutton Mr S commenced ploughing to day Bro Saml & Edmond dined hear to day went to Anna, to hire negro. Mr Sutton gave me some tobaco Seed orinoco [bright leaf tobacco] I got a note from Wm Talley to d Joh Terrell went to Dr Lins, Harry Winston died [Harry Robinson Winston, 1848-1859] Joh went for coffin {cleaned out barn, burning plant bed on the River for tobacco brought down wagon

Harriet & Liz at Mr Taylors {shelled corn sent one barrell to mill got some tobacco staves halling rails to fence from Anna, to swamp malling Bob got some hoops

Ella gave me a drake. Lewis was Prov. {went to Edge hill for hog, halling rails wood etc sowed a plant bed in tobacco cabbage seed etc on river above big rock

[cough] I tacked down a new carpet in dining room Archy Sutton came to day shooting at the robins a great many, Mrs Sutton complaining L went to store & got a pr shoes etc ground cutting knives {shelling corn malling rails grinding axes etc & fencing a little halled a lode rails or wood.

The balance of shoe money – I went to the slash for some slab timber halled up 2 lodes rived out a good many this evening nailed up some on garden. John killed a mad dog in Anna, Sellar a cut yeared yellow dog a large dog. I caryed Thomasia to Mr Suttons Mrs Sutton had a baby this morning a girl H at Mr Southworths to night – {Bob fallowing by out gate & barn E field – malling rails cutting wood halling halled slab timber fixing to scaffle [scaffold] a house at E field

Patched up the garden, rived some slabs etc laid the worm of a cow pen by Livvy, house made a pair bars etc put them in by Anna, . 2 Miss Dickinsons came this evening Dolly is sick to night. James carryed Evy Taylor to rail rode-bridge. Milly Jane went over to cook for Mr Taylor. John went to carry a letter etc to Bro Samls one for James T Redd & one for Llewellyn he is – going to Richmond Bro Watkins came by {Bob put in bars by Anna, etc cutting & malling rails in slash halling to Livys house -
