Fair mild i went to river hird a turkey yelp went in hanover, put Black across the river Llewellyn & Clarrence came up this evening I went to look for the turkeys killed one in Mr Harrises, saw him Tom Grimes came to day looking for work sent Edmond to T Castle with pr shoes & leather 6 lbs {malling rails halling up corn & shucking halled a lode wood etc

Rainy morning cdy day I went to look for the turkeys in Wares etc Clarrence & Llewellyn went in Mr Harrises saw some tracks in my pines – {halled a lode wood packing wheat etc at E field halled a lode straw & cramed tobacco house

Fair mild day I carryed Thomasia to stay with Ma, she is very sick sent for Dr in night last Mary & Thomasia are with her. I went hunting killed 2 squirls shot a turkey in Mr Southworths with mine went to Ma, saw Bro Saml left Tho. there Liz came over Mama is ill I think {halling corn shucking put up my hogs to day.

Rainy day. Thomasia sent for me last – night to go to Ma, she was taken ill in the night. sent for Sister Sarah in Richmond & for Bro Saml, Ma, died this morning between day & sun rise seem to bee calm etc I spent the day there Bettie came Mrs W - & Miss B Hill all to spend the night etc Sister Sarah & Cousin Hardin came at night Rose cow was sent to Ma, pasture {sent corn to mill & for meal shelling etc

Fair cool day I came up home with Thomasia went back Bro Poindexter preached this evening (text 2 nd Cor 17 verse – (4 ct.) a great many persons Dr G & Louisa came up to Ma, got there to funeral lent Bro Richinson Turner Selebrater his Horse ran off

Lewis & Edmond went home this morning Bro R Turner brought my Horse home. lost his Sunday at funeral H at Mr Southworths (Cousin Wm D Winston died this morning) [William D. Winston, 1790-1858, Hanover County] {dug irish potatoes rock spring etc Bob ploughing by ice House for corn field no 3. etc pulling corn halling wood etc etc

Fair a larg frost the ground frozen I saw ice cool morning I worked on a cart axle wedged one wheel Thomasia & I went to Cedar-vale, met with Clarrence Bro Saml came over, Mary & Thomasia – went to see Mrs Taylor. Cousin Wm D Winston died yesterday morning funeral preached to day at Taylors ville Lucy Carter is better. (Dr Morris had a negro killed in a fite a short time ago) {fallowing by house or kitchen for corni n field no 3. halled a lode wood halling up corn shucking etc

Cdy most of the day I went to Cedar-vale & to Bro Saml, he & Edmond went to Richmond sent for 100 lbs bacon at 6 cts a lb got 1 yd cloth 29 cts. of Sister Conelia Mr Kidd cut my hair brought a letter to Bettie from John I pulled a tooth for Miss B Hill at Cedar-vale Cousin Hardin Sister Emily & Bettie walked up this evening worked on cart tung etc {sent for cart tung Bob workg on it. killed lam, halling up corn shucking etc halled a lode wood

Fair a cold day the ground hard frozen ice on ice-pond 1/4 in thick, stoping ice pond. Thomasia & I went to Cedar vale Bro Saml carryed Mary home Mr Carter & Lucy went to Bro Saml, Bro S, brought over 101 lbs bacon for me it cossed $7.50¢ 100 lbs. Thomasia & Emily went to see Mrs Taylor. Bettie has very bed cole etc Clarrence at Cedar vale Cousin Harden etc {halling wood stoped ice pond shelled corn & sent to mill for meal sent to Cedar v for 100 lbs bacon

Fair a very cold morning large frost clouding up for snow I killed a turkey this morning by the house she flew out tree over spring killed her by fodder stacks she weighed 13 lbs 5 feet & 4 1/2 across wings 4 feet long very long T. Thomasia & I went to Providence ther was a Runaway caught at T Castle shot 3 times at him belongs to J Burruss. – Wm Smith went to Providence & dined etc Miss Eliza Chiles there we stoped at Cedar vale Bettie & Emily are there Lewis came to Providence this evening. sent John to store for 5 lbs no 2 shot {fallowing for corn field no 3. finished – shucking corn to day made a very good crop. Jessey halling wood for Mr Taylor halling for me put away the greens etc in garden

Fair cool & windy Edmond came by with his dogs went home Clarrence came for me this evening saw a turkey I went to look for her in Mr Southworths Bettie Redd Harriet & John went to Cedar vale to night John was dressed in H, clothes I got 2 letters one from woodfolk {Woolfolk] the other from the Nurcy man Mr Davis Wilson came by  with shoes. sent an advertizment to store of Ma, Estate. {shelled corn halling wood for Mr T & self fallowing cutting down & halling stalks

Fair cool R Winston came by & John James Watkins on there way to F Cobbs sale the land soled for $12. an acre I went to Cedar vale sent $3. to Woolfolk money borrowed by Llewellyn  I killed a large halk 2 Pheasants 1 squirl John killed a wile turkey in Mr Southworths the first he ever killed John went to Cedar vale to night {shelled corn sent to mill for Mr T, & self sent Henry to Depot for 6 pair trees sent $3.00 to pay Llewellyns expences on cart to Dr G. I owe one $1.00 of it. fallowing halling up corn stalks

Fair very cold morning cool day I saw a wild turkey going a cross my field went towars ivy hill Lanzy saw 4 by out gate in w. p. I went to look for them darn caught one that weighed 12 lbs. I killed hair Mary at Cedar v to day Bettie started home. John went to Cedar vale. H got frock from store $1.25 cts. J & Sally S. wer hear to day. {halling wood & leaves in hog pen & farm pen etc fallowing across swamp back kitchen berried my pair trees 6 in all in garden
