I went to the mill never saw such a site the – River was filled with huge pieces of ice – piled on one another from one bank to the other the bridge moved some 8 or 10 feet down. <et with Edmond Redd Dr Jacob passed over bridge with horse & Mr Colemans wagon I went down again in evening saw Bro Saml Dr Nelson Mr Duke & others the bridge moved lore Ewe has lam {sent a Hhd tobacco to Depot halling wood covered ice striping tobacco etc etc |

Wise, Governor, 1856=1859] I went to Dandridge & spent the night etc {shelled corn for Mr Taylor & self sent to the mill cutting & halling wood |

Andersons & shop. Saw Tate & Lane prizeing tobacco came by Ma, saw Miss B Hill & Ella got some onion seed etc of her, sent for some cabbage etc, Llewellyn got home from Providence this morning went to Ma, to night {fallowing faned out 30 bushels of wheat & baged it E Field halled rails & fenced in the tobacco bed by the out gate halled rails & fenced in the tobacco bed by the out gate main rod – I mended my – big steel trap & set it on isleand on river |
