Bro Saml & girls dined – at Ma, went home this evening they constituted the church at Elon this evening. Saml was chosen decon. & Dr Dickinson at Carmel Rain a little last night a good one over the river I put down $1. for ptg the church

Rain showery light, I went to see Bro Fleming Cobb he had a fall some time ago. got some good – apples. went to store bought 2 1/2 yds calico for 25 cts left it there. had 4 springs made for little cart price 25 cts for makg. got 2 1/4 lbs steel of Terrell at 12 cts a lb put them on the cart etc I pulled a wtermellon the first Mary Louisa is sick {halled up 2or 3 loads oats ploughing & weeding tobacco E field had a hog to die down there.

Rain a good one this morning & last night it is raining now saw a rain bough to night from the moon. I went to Carmel to meeting Bro Thomas spoke but few persons there sent a letter to Barbara from Thomasia Mrs Hill came up to Anna, from Richmond {shelled a turn corn striped out some tobacco & put it in barrell worming tobacco etc etc

I went by E field & to the Store Collins saw B Travillian & his twins I bought saddle bridle & martaingale [martingale: set of straps, one end attached to reins, the other to girth – to prevent horse from raising head too high] & 2 pair shoes matches $11.69 – went to J Swanns saw E Cobbs spoke for seed wheat 25 bu went to Bro Addams, to look at his coalt I offered to take $50. to boot. went to Ma, this evening saw Mr Kid J Talley Louisa Gouldin etc went to Providence to see the Dr about pattern right saw Miss Eliza Mrs Gentry & Miss Valentine at Providence saw Bro Saml at Ma, to night. (worming toping suckering tobacco E field halling wheat from Ma, to my barn sent 4 1/2 bu corn to mill
