Fair mild day snowed a little last night I went to Ma,s & to Anna, to see her about m oneyh rode etc came to no understanding about it I saw Miss Bell at Ma, - they went to the mill to way [day?] I put up a rack for my guns. John made 2 racks done up a ax & hoe etc working on Ma,s carriage made a shelter for calves oxen etc halling brush etc |

Rain most of the day sleeting cool day I put a helve to little axe & ground it cutting Mr Taylor some wood I washed & oiled the big gun - Mr G Southworth lost his bay horse Bro Saml at Ma, has Joh Toped the calf shelter & steer shelter cutting & halling Mr Taylor wood etc etc |

Rain the most of the fore-noon rained all night last, quite a sleet Mr Taylor stayed he saw 2 turkeys they wer turkeys with a ser name I rode to Ma, & E Field striping tobacco put it in the barn etc Sally Gouldin came up with Harriet this evening Duck went away this morning striping tobacco at E Field etc etc etc |

Snowy day it commenced in the night & snowed all day hard Very cold day & windy north win the snow fell 1 foot deep 2 feet in places drifted - makg fires & feeding cattle etc etc etc etc Bob had John shoes to 1/2 sole |

Fair mild over head the snow seems to be 2 or 3 feet in places it stoped snowing in the night I rode to Mr . Taylors & to Ma,s carryed Mr T 1/2 Do Candles etc Llewellyn at Ma, Lize quite poly to day |

Fair a very cold night & morning the coldest morning I most ever felt Lanzy complained of his hands frost bitten I went hunting in Mrs Burrusses saw some birds I caught a Hair & killed 11 birds 4 shoots killed 7 at one shoot near Mt Airy Joh saw 8 flocks birds halled one load of wood cutting sme for Mr Taylor etc etc |

Fair milder I went hunting met with Linzy Terrell & Lucks I caught 6 Hairs killed 1 Pheasant sent a box fowls 17 turkeys 11 partridges 1 Pheasant & 6 H 4 lbs butter to Depot this evening by Bob killed 17 turkeys sent them to Depot cutting & halling wood |

Fair a very cold day I went to Bro Saml, and spent the day Miss Mary Duke was there brought over some blankets for July-Ann & 50 cts for Annasent by Molly - from Miss Eliza B got a letter at Bro Saml, from John T. Redd. Bob got back from Depot getting ice loads it is about 8 or 9 in thick halled a lode short wood etc |

Clear day Coldest night & morning I think I ever saw the weather was 8 degrees bekiw zero at Providence I went to store and carryed an ax back that was warented bought 3 d coffee at 15cts 45cts Collins at Ma,s getting ice Mrs Helping had 2 falls - halled a load of wood for Mariah getting ice 9 in thick Henry went to carry Mr Taylor shucks & cut wood |

Fair a bitter cold night & morning I went to look for a gobler shot him twice expect I killed him but cold not find him, saw several hairs in the bed saw one frozen at ivy hill cutting & halling short wood etc carryed shucks to Mr Taylors sent to mill for meal - |

Fair cool day killed 4 hogs 3 that came from Lafons & White sow I carryed Thomasia to Ma,s to work a piece of cloth cousin Frank Thompkins Edward T, Son at Ma,s I saw a turkey track in my pines - & Ma,s several persons frozed to death last week I hird killed 4 hogs halled a lode of wood for Mr T cutting wood etc |

Fair a very cold morning I weighed 4 hogs first weighed 138 lbs 107 lbs 104 lbs & 69 lbs makg 418 lbs cut the meat out in seller getting ice I have 2153 lbs in all killed 22 hogs in all one pig cut out hogs etc getting ice 6 or 7 loads shelled corn for Mr Taylor & self etc sent twice to day |

Fair a cold morning mild day finished getting ice filled the house I went to see Mr Willshire to get his corn shelter etc his children to go to scool to Thomasia I went by Mr Harrises & to Taylor S Lucks & to Joels & dined went to Terrells or Smiths & COllins' bolts bought pepper blacking & trimmings etc to the amount of $1.58 cts saw Lucy & Mony at store finished getting rice and cutting & halling wood |

Fair cool morning mild day afterwards I sent a hand to Mr Southworth to kill his beef I went to Mr Buttlers to carry a coat & pants saw Molly & Edmond in sley they went to Mrs Burrusses with Miss Eliza got my pantaloons from Mr Buttlers I went to Bro Samls got my leather & brought over 2 bonnets for Mr Southworth - stoped at Ma,s saw Mr Talley & family there.The Misses Dickinsons wer there - cutting & hallingwood for self & Mr Taylor sent Lanzy to Mr Southworths, to help to kill a beef. |

Went to the mill to the letting of the bridge [announcing contract to construct bridge] Bro Saml L Minor L Terrell & J Dickinson wer the commishoners at Mr Blunt & Uncle Wm D Taylor undertook it for $874 doll cutting & halling wood etc |
