Cdy most of the day mild we came from Bro Saml's to Mr Gouldins to the sale Bro Saml bought a good many things - we sined a petishion to have the river a lorfull fence Mr Carter at sale Lin & Tom I - put Thomasia over the river & went back to look for John & Jimy put them over the river Llewellyn staid behind finished pulling the fodder E Field cutting the tops etc

Rainy most of the day I went to E Field to see Mr T about Mr Southworth & my hogs he came over to see me about hogs he was Drunk etc etc etc I went to Terrells store saw Ma, & Sister Sarah & Betty & Miss Kean shelled corn for Mr T sent to mill worming tobacco E Field -

Rain a few drops I went to look for my pigs in W Southworths cornfield I found them in my corn caught one saw Mr Wiltcher he was sowed 75 bu wheat Llewellyn got back from Spicers I went to E Field & cut a window in the barn shed, nearly done cutting tops EF Vander at Terrells cutting tops E Field and stacking blades or toting up catching hogs etc finished worming tobacco putting up fence in pasture

Fair cool I went to river on[e] yelped hird turkeys went over & shot 2 black ones shot at one near ivy hill saw 8 or 10 in all I carryed Thomasia to Mr Hills carryed thread for cloth went to E Field came up the river to look for turkeys saw some sine sent Jessey to Bro Samls for lard a northern light to night cast off north star put the tobacco on scaffold stacked the fodder at E Field 2 stacks 3 in all E F pulling fodder rock spring etc etc

Fair mild day I went to E Field to fix tears in the barn for tobacco put the tobacco in the barn looks like rain Llewellyn came with Sister Sarah & Lucy from Mr Talleys Nancy Ballard at Ma,s Susan Southworth hear to night-- John Thomas Redd went to take his scool cutting tobacco hear & cutting tops pulling  fodder by rock spring got a cart lode timber for tobacco sticks halling poles for hog pen & scafforld at Edge Hill  started this evening to rakeing fallowed by Canfields for wheat

Rain most of the fore noon warm morning & cool evening it Fair at this time & windy Charles Gouldin came by from Spotsylvania went to Bro Saml's I wentdown to Ma,s & fixed a lock on seller & carryed a letter for Nancy B to Bolwer - went to E Field and fastened up barn shed - Mr Taylor sent me a shaughe [shaughai] ruster getting tobacco sticks hung up the tobacco in tobacco house fixing tobacco in barn E Fid rakg a little

Fair mild day finished hanging the tobacco put it in house, Mr Mahon came up to see me and Tom camewent away this evening he had a texass fever [malaria-like, tick-borne disease] I sent to the Dr for 20 bu wheat for seed washed some & commenced sowing at E Field by Mt Airy gap sowed guano etc Sowed 1 bushel of W [wheat sketch] sent to Providence for 20 bu wheat Matthews brining & sowing 1 bu hung up the tobacco Edge Hill halling rails for stack frame beeting & [missing?] guano Peruvian & Mexican 1 to 2 parts

Fair warm d it thundered & lightened to night I sowed about 3 1/2 or 4 bushels ploughing in Saw Dr A & Dr Lin & John by Mt Airy gate Edmond came up & dined I went with him home to look at an ox I traded Sonny for Brown gave 35 bushels oats to boot went for the steer brought him over I killed 5 birds this evening Edmond bought some oats of Mr James Southworth wheat 4 bu sowed washing wheat & beeting up guano & mixeing it etc I sowed 4 bu of wheat cutting down corn E Field halling it off etc halled lode poles for tears

Rained a few drops & snowed a little I think, cool day, it rained last night a good deel Harriet went to Mr Harrises Cousin Elizabeth Oliver came from Ma, by hear going to Mr Harrises I went to E Field fixed new house for tobacco sowing wheat this evening guano etc sowing wheat 1 bu (sowed 1 but of wheat etc) shelled a turn of corn sent it to mill halled a load of wood halling off corn E Field ploughing in wheat & guano 1 bushel brought up a load of corn for hogs

Redd went to take his scool [at UVa] wheat 5 bu sowed finished sowing the fallowed land in wheat cutting down corn & halling it off 2 loads of fodder off sowing guano & beeting guano & working wheat etc stacking tops E Field to night

Fair a ver cool d a little ice seen Thomasia & a part of the children went to Providence  started back met with Ella & went back she went to the store & came hear I went to Mr Butlers to carry a pr pants & rest to make saw Edmond there Miss Eliza promised to make a vest by tusday evening went to John to T Castle to look at his fowls - stoped at Ma,s this morning saw the girls - Clarence& Cary came for the buggy & saddl the girls went home sent corn to mill & 8 bu wheat fixed up stack frame, halling up tops stacking etc doing up the fence around stack etc.

Fair cool morning a frost Mr Fountain came to see Mr Taylor about my paying him a part of his wages promised to pay him 50 dollars - finished diging sweet potatoes & irish up home I went to E Field & sow about 2 bu of white May wheat by Anna, sowed some guano etc I stoped at Ma,s Llewellyn there attending to her potatoes etc Wm Robinson got my hogs up & fied them sent for them (2 bu wheat sowed) finished diging sweet potatoes & irish at E Field cutting down corn halled a load shucking etc sent to mill for meal & flower brought up 2 bags sowing wheat 2 bushels of foreward wheat ploughed the tobacco land

Finished sowing wheat to night ploughed it in - open the water furrows etc finished diging Irish potatoes & stacked them up made 52 1/2 bu at E Field beeting down tobacco stubbles etc halled a load wood corn etc
