Fair it Rained a little last night & thundered & Lightened a good deel in the evening & night warm day I went fishing caught 2 pike & 3 silver pirch bated the hole fencing on sandy flat strate fence Frank ditching by Rock Spring manuredthe plant -beds with sheep pen manure fencing on the river ploughing etc at End Field 2 D.P. Bob caryed his plough shear to [plow share]

Rain a shower I went fishing bated hole - Frank finished ditching I paid him $10.00 part for ditching & a part for cutting hay over [him?] 80 cts. H & M came went to work at 3 ock getting slabs & planing planks flowing I rode down to E Field L Terrell came by on his way to Bro Dukes to baptizing Mary Duke Dickinson & others wer baptize sent to Providence for peas Charles at Anna,s shelled corn sent to mill ploughing fencing finished straight fence on river

Rain a little showery I went down to E Field saw Charles Gouldin Mr Hudson riving slabs M plaining flooring planks stoped at Ma,s commenced planting corn down on the rode E. F. Mr Mongumry at Terrells store takg Degaretipes [Daguerroeotypes] likenesss hird a wood lark sing to day shelled a turn corn etc halled a lode manure to peach orchard & planted ground peas etc etc [peanuts] ploughing E F & commenced planting corn halling timber etc etc burning brush etc

Field plantg corn halling manure for tobacco by Anna,s halling slabs etc

Fair cool day I paid Husdson$15.00 for his work & Thacker,s & $8.00 to pay to Robert Luck for makg a pair wheels I went to Carmel the preacher did not get there I paid $1.00 to church Ella brought a bundle for Thomasia went to E Field Clarence came ober with Llewellyn to night specking at Bever dam between Dr Lin & Duck C brought over Jennysrusters planting corn sent to Depot for meat & molaces sent to mill for meal got 4 bu meal fram 4 12 corn --

Fair warm day I went to Ma,s & to Dr Lins to look at his refrigerator Mony sent a cocoanut to children met with Mr G at Lins, Harriet & Llewellyn went to Bro Samls in horse cart for salt lard etc I went to Bro Saml got salt of him 1 sack paid $1.80 cts & paid $6.00 for L Minor, Bartlet,s work in 1853 I saw Miss Virginia Bollins at Anna,s & Miss Hill sent Mr Wiltchers wagon home fixed a hine bord to the wagon Bro Saml soled his black horse Eagle $50. sent wagon home & ploughed turnip patch for peas reeplanting corn watered plant bed by Hills shop

Fair warm & mild day I went to the River caught a pike carryed the barouch to Ma,s & carryed Sister Sarah to Providence carryed a letter to the Dr to cary to Wm Dandridge the Dr is more than 1/2 done weeding corn Duke & [Livy?] had a scrape Tom came up to dinner went to see Mr Taylor about voting I walked down as far as E Field with him sent Lanzy to Bro Saml,s for ice cooler. I pd Ella 2 1/2 dollars for Thomasia ploughed sweet potato patch sent to Bro Saml for refrigerator made semblain hills etc watering plant beds.

Rain showery light showers I went to the River to look for key & caught a pike with fly hook broke the line - I found the key in stable I went to Ma,s saw E Talley, salted cattle went to plant bed by Hills shop etc saw Canfield Henry got hurt by horse yesterday or day before coaltering the meadow below rock spring etc weeding corn etc

Rainy morning it rained helf of the night last a good rain I set out cabbage plants & sent to providence for plants early yorks - [york cabbage] I went to Bro Saml,s for Harriet carryed Lizy & John came back this evening John in Richmond got some Ewe-horn peas at Bro Saml to plant stoped at Ma,s Llewellyn went to Dr Gouldins for Ma, Buggy set out cabbage plants ploughed garden etc cleaned off the isleand on river cockled wheat etc [cockle is wild or "false" wheat; at harvest time it is removed from wheat]
