Fair a cold morning mild day I walked to lower barn for scantlin for Mr Malery working on the closet under the steps in sellar, moveing the dirt etc. I stoped at Ma,s Malery planing up planks is to work for 75 cts a day Tom S came to night with Llewellyn cutting sawed down 2 trees 2 staks pine malling grubing burning brush halling rails etc.

Rain a little showery I went to fence by Canfields fencing by out gate & barn saw Edmond R and R. Wm Swann at Anners he went to Bro Samls Sister Sarah & Emily T & Molly Lou came up from Dr Gouldins Edmond came up Jessey died last night diging grave at Ma, Tate makg coffin cut out hog it weighed 167 lbs the pig ran off Robert caught it at Ma,s cut out hog made a pig pen & put up 2 pigs, fencing by out gate Joh diging grave ploughing etc

Valentine Smith wer there I came by Providence the Dr pd me $44.20 for Dandridge & Hart pd me 7 dollars for beef Billy Quarles getting shingles for Dr burryed Jessey at Ma,s ploughing grubing halling wood etc

Rain a little this morning cdy cool day I went to Bro Lucks went to the Boling Green in his buggy I pd Doils agent $33.50 cts for a wheat fan sent Davy to L Terrells to go to Boling Green he drove him to cariage Trevillion went with him Mr Hudson came tonight to go to work I bought 8 cts worth cakes pd 25cts for horse feed etc halling wood rails etc & fencing back new ground grubing etc

Cdy morning and a mild evening I went to Ma, Mr Sea  & Chandler came to Ma,s to try to get her claim went to Canfields he has a clame I sined his paper & Mr Taylor went to Terrells store paid him $24.78cts for Taxes went back this evening pd Terrell 25cts for mule feed went to store bought 3 lbs coffee pd 70 cts for it sent to Providence for press Mr Hudson put a helf or planed it up this evening - he came from James Southworth's halling rails to fence by Canfields & Anna, fencing cutting rail timber in Mr Southworths to do up his fence grubing halling rails for Mr T etc.

Rain Hail & snow commenced raining in night rain all the morning snowed all evening the largest flakes of snow I think I ever saw som wer one inch & a half or longer snowed very fast melted nearly as fast as it fel,  cool day -- lost ewe got drowned she has a lamb they have been eating ivy - Thomasia received a note from Mrs Harris about the weather

Fair cool day I went with Lanzy to mill we stack brought up a load of planks did not get the pig raised on him Mr Hudson & M finished hewing the logs for house & commenced getting shingles this evening commenced sowing oats by shop Mr & Miss Harris came & spent the evening I found spade in san Malery came for his money pd him $1.95cts 6 bu oats commenced sowing oats sowed 6 bushels sent to mill carryed stock & corn  halling logs for house etc grubing

Fair most of the day a very windy & cool day Mr Anderson finished my yoke & getting shingles working on river, set a turkey or pened one in the garden caught a pig and put it up in pen I rode colt to barn end field Mr H & M worked 1/2 day snowed at Mr Noels he sayed & a litle hear 9 1/2 bu oats S 15 1/2 sowing oats 9 1/2 bu finished by house 14 on the piece ploughed garden halled manure in etc etc planted peas etc halled a lode rocks down brought up 6 bu oats grubing on the river etc
