Rain last night a small shower this evening, a very warm day I went to Bro Adams, to the funeral of Sister Seay a good many persons Bro Allen preached it etc I went to Cty Line Bro Bray preached Thomasia & some of the children went to meeting they baptized 15 or 16 persons Leroy Gatewood was one of them & rain last night saw a drove of mules out in the rode toping tobacco worming ploughing corn E Field weeding etc etc etc

Raining hard now Rained a few drops rained hard clouded up to night warm day I went to cornfield & shot at some crows put up some telegrafs etc James H Terrell came with a horse kit & soled him to me for 12 1/5 dollars payable 6 months I pulled 2 watermellons ate one Finished ploughing corn by Mt Airy gap weeding corn by the shop ploughing the sweet potatoe patch

Cdy most of the day warm we went to Mr Gouldins & stayed till evening saw Charles wife Charles halling his wheat to turn but we went to Bro Saml's in evening ploughing tobacco by barn weeding 5 potatoes etc

Fair very warm day we rode to Mr Wheats Bro S threshed his wheat saw Mary Terrell at W - Edmond stated that the river was pass foarding so we did not go to meeting weeding tobacco by barn etc

Fair mild day I pulled 21 watermellons Clarence & Llewellyn went coon hunting Edmond & his set [setter?] went over to Mr Gouldins he had a piece scantling for axle tree 50cts swaped some iron 20 lbs Robinson at work for me done up my ploughs etc he had 16 lbs iron for the iron that he furnished Clarence hear to night sent a water mellon to Mrs Southworth,s etc I went to E Field & Ma,s Mony [nickname for Edmonia] Harris at Ma,s last night fallowing workg in blacksmith's shop on ploughs Bob & Wm worming & suckering tobacco

Fair mild day I made 2 dryers, put away a basket of apples in ship I went to Terrells store bought goodsto the amount of 81 cts some cotton for the girls at Bro Samls went to Winstons shop had an old shoe nailed on ben - went to see Henry Martin saw [Gleng?] land looked at his cattle saw Martin at Davy Cobbs is to come to work next week at 75cts a day saw Miss Lucy Addams in the rode. Robinson came to fix my Barouch to night Lucy Lit at Ma,s fallowing sowing turnipseed in tobacco patch pulling fodder commenced cutting hay etc

Fair very warm d I went crow hunting in corn field killed a crow I rode to Ma,s this evening saw Edmond at Ma,s Llewellyn at Ma salted Ma,s cattle her bull has been shot by Hoke at Tates, sent to Chesterfield for box & bed sted caught 2 pigs in cornfield - put them up in pen etc Jessey got back with bed steds etc 3 tumblers broke put chalf in a pen etc made a stack of hay at barn catching pigs pulling fodder this evening halling up hay etc sent to Chesterfield etc
