Fair cdy evening I went to the fair grounds spent the day a great many persons supposed to be about 30000 at fair Bro Saml & Boys wer down malling & halling rails & finished stacking the blades in

Fair went to Sothern Planters office pd my subscription $2.00 for 53 & 4 pd for the week by mail 30 cts in all. Saw Dr G at fair Kitty staid hear to night - with Thomasia halled manure ploughed 2 squares in garden grubing etc Bob finished the potatoe hole at Moriahs 4

Fair the fair broke to day James T Redd got premion on water gate $20. I got my things out of fair grounds & Bro Saml bought a Devon bull [English red cattle] 40 dollars Kitty staid with Thomasia grubing Bob workg on potatoe hole etc

Rainy morning I went to the cars before day got on pd a man 10cts for trunk etc came to Chesterfield & Sister Sarah lost her trunk etc Wm Swan came up with Bro Saml Llewellyn and Clarence staid to bring up Bro Samls & the Dr. bulls they went to Sister Sophia,s cutting  & halling wood grubing on river etc etc

Fair very cold the ground frozen a large frost I went to Terrells store bought a bit $1.38 & 2 pairs shoes $1.38 cts a piece went back this evening got a box caps 2/3 d brought a shirt home expect to send it back I killed a bird & hair saw Saml Swann Wm S & Wm Harris at store all went to Mr H,s Columbia came to day etc my chickens got back from Richmond bought coat $5.25cts sent corn to mill put away the greens halled a lode brush cutting wood halled 2 or 3 loads manure for wheat over meadow grubing etc

Fair large frost cool day I came over from Bro Saml,s went to the sale at Mrs Molly Lucks bought 3 hogs for $9.15 cts & 4 for Ma, pigs $1.35 cts each $5.40. 2 axes 15 cts Mr Gouldin came by & Bro Saml Thomasia & I went over to Bro Sam,s in Barouch for Llewellyn in the evening to spent thenight fallowing burning brush halling manure in corn field malling rails etc sent to Depot for things

Fair frost finished putting away my corn put up 30 bls making in all 119 bls in house I went hunting killed 1 B. went in Ma,s on river the Halls hunting birds Llewellyn went to Terrells for powdeer had none old Mr Southworth went to Richmond I sowed 3 pecks winter oats & some golden & Texas & Calif finished putting up the corn 30 bls makg 119 in house 150 in all

Cdy most of the day & very windy & cool I went by Ma,s to Mt Airy to the sale pd W Right Ma,s tax bill Molly & Betty G at Ma,s Miss Leeper & Anna at Mt Airy I bought 16 turkeys for 87 1/2 or 88 cts wheel 50 cts and sundries $1.35 cts cotton 2 bags 91 lbs $1.35 cts Wm S Tally is to take 1/2 the Turkeys stoped at Ma,s saw Mss Mary Hill at Anna etc packg or putting turnips away fallowing halling wood etc

Fair cool day windy I carryed Thomasia to Ma,s Mollly & Betty at Ma, went to Mt Airy gave my note for things bought & for Wm Talley's things $2, and some sents. Wm took 8 turkeys at 88 cts - I brought 9 turkey home my bill $10.25 1/2 cts the workmen at work to day one shet put rafters etc on I carryed a quater of beef to Dukes at Mt Airy it weighed 65 lbs 5 cts $3.25 cts. put the cattle under shelter to night etc Bro Saml came by the barn this evening Wm Talley went from Ma, fenced in shucks & top stack fallowing sent to Mt Airy for Turkeys & halled logs for potatoes

Fair a pleasant day we fixed and started to Dr Gouldins. Thomasia Harriet Thomasia & Lizy - stoped at Terrells saw Sister Sarah & Molly & Mr Gouldin at Terrells Thomasia get a vale 3/9 d We got to the Drs before sun-set saw Betty Redd & all, a Miss Broaddus etc Bob went out to main road drove Ben & Betsy fallowing cutting and halling wood grubing etc
