Fair cdy morning Mr Carter came up he & Llewellyn went hunting the girls came from Ma, Ann & Emily cousin Lucy Tayloe Lucy Carter Lucy R Molly & Bro Saml Edmond Thomas & Susan talley Sister Sarah they all went to Ma,s Bro Saml went home ploughing on meadow cutting & halling wood malling etc grubing burning brush

Mr Carter & Family went to Bro Saml,s - they sent for them Clarence came for key to get fan faning out Ma,s wheat etc I pd Mr Carter 25 dollars for Sister Sophia ploughing in meadow cutting in new ground cutting off stocks halling rails around pasture fence grubing burning brush etc cut out beef & salted it hung up bacon etc

Fair cool day I went to the division room was elected conducter John Quarles W.P. Bro Saml & Mr Noelwer there went to Carmel to meeting Bro Coalman preached Hackett's case came up he had his name taken off the church B. I paid John T Anderson $20.00 for rye I paid Garlend Hargrove $5.62 1/2 cts money borrowed I paid James McLaughlin $50.00 for his father for a yoke of steers I pd James Luck 12 1/2 cts money borrowed we enjoyed the services of our Pasture to preach twice a mo. for $300.00 Thomasia diping candles I borrowed $5.00 of Bro S. ditching ground the plant bed cutting & halling wood grubing etc etc

Fair a cold ay I carryed some leather to Terrells shop had a pair boots cut out is to make them for $2.37 1/2 cts bought 5 cts worth ribon. I saw B Trevellian at store met Geo England at out gate Southworth is fencing from out gate burning plant bed below spring I went to Providence for some cabbage seed & tomatoe lettuce etc Ella killed her turkeys to send down Towzer was killed by Mr Southwards dogs last week burning plant bed & ploughing grubing etc etc

Fair cool day I rode to mill left my horse & walked up home & gave out provisions & went back to Bro Samls we left John & Llewellyn at Bro Saml,s we went up to Lins saw Mr G & Edmond with a black horse he traded for with Duke Wm Lucy Robinson came home with Tom Taylor, cutting & halling of wood cut a trench around the tobacco bed.

Fair cool day I went to the River my boart [boat] went down & loged I rode to the mill this morning & this evening the river is very high it lacks about 2 or 1 feet of being as high as the freshets in 1852. several stacks of fodder went off at Jack Martins. I stoped at Ma,s she has a sore hand Charles & Sam came up to night Mrs Southworth came over to get me to hall some wood sent Bob & Joh to get wood I saw Lin at the mill to night made a shelter for calvs & halled several lodes gravel & put it in walks made rock step sent cart to hall Mrs Southworth some wood turned mdy dug out

Fair cool day the River has falen a good deel to day Old Mr Southworth got back this evening from Richmond left Kitty at Mr Gouldins with horse & cart I moved the little house in garden patched up the fence etc Quart England came for 4 cows & ox hides to tan Charles & Sam went to mill & home h alled a lode or 2 of rails to do up garden fence took it down & done it up moved the little house halled 4 long poles Lanzy got home this evening
