Fair very warm day I carryed Louisa Terrell to Providence saw [g shel?] got a letter from Wm Dandridge Thomasia is complaining Molly & girls went to Smiths store Molly & John went home this evening stoped at Ma, to day Thad came up to night with Llewellyn Mr Southward went to Richmond this morning put up the body of stable or granary moved & put up body to house fallowing worming tobacco toping etc

Fair pretty day Mr Tate & Evans came worked on house put up rafters etc we went to new orchard for apples sent mule to Mill Llewellyn - Thad went away to day Dr sent a letter by him to Mr Dandridge for guano and plough Carter Harris came by working on house put up the fence on creek fallowing etc commenced pulling fodder on river etc.

Fair cool lmorning Mr Tate & Evins getting rafters for house etc halling I went to Mama, saw Sister Emily & Betty Wm Talley at Ma, We rode to mill, I weighted 176 lbs Llewellyn came up with me Molly & Sam went home this morning John Watkins went to look for home spent the day pulling fodder hall halling rafters etc etc

Fair i went to Bro Saml, after damsons - carryed a basket apples Edmond is sick. Louisa Terrell is there. Bro Saml & Sam went to Association yesterday saw his carriage saw Mr Trainham at Bro Saml. I brought over some watermellons etc saw John at Linnaeus, halled a lode or two of rafters etc pulling fodder etc

Cdy day warm we went to scool house to get slab timber got 5 trees one gum for hubs sheted the saw saw Hardyman at old Taylors wants me to take an order on tate for 5 cts - Canfield came an cut the tire on cart wheel put it one tc got a letter of Mr Brooks for 5 bu wheat at $1.25 per bu pulling fodder [cutting tops crossed out] put up one stack fodder etc

Fair warm day I went to old place after my sheep put them in my field by my shop & barn stoped at Anna, shaved Mr hill, has gloster with him negro from Richmond to weight on him Sister Sarah  & Emily came up & spent the day - Tom Grimes came to get work has quit Winston. halling rails to turnip patch pulling fodder put up the fence below rock spring & put upstack fodder

Rain this morning a shower or two Tate John Lanzy & myself went after slab timber cut down 3 or 4 trees next to rode got off 8 or 9 stacks in all - cut 2 gums for hubs etc Tom Grimes came to work made some nails & put 2 shoes on mare is to work for 50 cts a day worked 1/2 day or little more Wm Talley sent over to Mama, to beet sider etc sent to mill to shop for plough 1/2 done ploughed a little worming tobacco etc getting slab timber etc fencing in turnips etc.

Rain most of the day from 10 in morning Tate & Evins came & worked till 1/2 pass 10 went home put laths on house raised corner to house etc. Napoleon Luck & sons came with bundle etc. paid me 12 1/2 cts ballance on shope account sent 3 old steers to field at lore barn to [father?] for heaves [obstructed breathing] yoked the young steers up - one refused to pull etc Wm Talley at Ma,s beeting sider etc Mr Jack Halett died this evening drunk fel in ditch cutting tops commenced faning wheat getting white oak for splits etc.

Fair cool day north west win James Watkins staid hear last night I rote a certificate for John he went to his fathers no night Tate & Evins fraiming the shed ? stabs etc etc halling timber for slabs went to Anna, shaved Mr Hill, etc Sam Gouldin came with Llewellyn to night Tom Grimes came to day sent 5 bu wheat to mill tying up tops pulling fodder put up 2 stacks etc halling & sent 5 bu wheat white to mill

Fair a very cool morning Thomasia & I walked to Ma, I rode to mill this evening went to Canfields he pd me $5 for getting out wheat this year we went after chinquepins I got 800 - carryed my 2 calvs to my pasture by Anna to day John W went to Mr Gwaltneys started yesterday Llewellyn & Sam went to scool came back Duke went away fallowing pulilng foodder halling slab timber etc.

Fair warm d Mr harris Canby & Willy Harris Mr Gouldin came this evening for bag & bolts etc. Tate & I framed the shed on this side. John came this morning made a bargain with mr Gwaltney - Llewellyn at home  Mr Dukes brother died the other day I received a letter from Mr Dandridge about guano etc got me 22 bags halling slab timber finished pulling fodder fallowing down at old place nex to Canfields plough a square in garden for strawberries

Rain a little this morning cdy most of the day went to Mr Taylors to saw a locust in two John & I sawed down 7 sedars for post hued a plate etc etc etc I rode to Ma, & my field where Bob was fallowing saw Emily Talley at Ma, Taft failed to come etc pulling fodder finished cutting tops. Fair I faned out 5 bu wheat to day and sent it to Depot for Mr Brooke at $1.25 cts a bu sent for guano & plough 3[?] plough sent a letter to Mr brooke pulling foder at new ground I went to Mama, borrowed some corn painted a barrel etc. Tate went to Andersons to work Mr & Mrs Carter came up to Mr Gouldins to day Mr Taylor came to get me to let him off sent Lucy $1.00 by Robinson sent to Depot for guano etc a plough etc pulling fodder

Cdy a part of day I rode the colt to Bro Samuels he & wife went down to Richmond to day Mr Carter & Charles came there hunting. I dined there. Louisa Terrell & Betty came over to Ma, with me. Saw Lucy Carter & Betty Redd at Ma,s. & Sister Emily I budded some rose bushes for Betty. Roburt came last night for me to se B finished cutting tops at new ground & up hear Bob fallowing etc

Cdy most of the day John & I went to the river picked up some rocks & I rode the colt to Carmel the singing society was at Carmel singing I saw cousin Sapleton Redd & Tyler at Carmel they elected em W.A. [Worthy Associate, an office leading to Worthy Patriach] John W went to Cty Line I got some very large chinquepins on rode to Carmel fallowing ree malling rails moved cow pen fencing in stack frames etc etc

Fair pretty day t ate came we working on house at barn we went to new ground for a slab tree cut down one in corn field halled up one log stoped at Ma,s Betty Redd & Betty Redd at Mama, Mrs Luck came up to night Mr Carter & Lucy went down yesterday from Bro Saml halling up tops seat to mill ree falloing by barn halled the post to sheds etc

Fair cool Tate & John helping me about sheds put in the post & lates put on some of the rafters etc wheted 2 saws etc. Thomasia went to Ma, & Mr Southwards to day finished stacking tops to day stacking tops & finished halling rails & fencing in the stock got tops from new ground cutting poles for tobacco scaffle [scaffold]
