Fair a frost a little this morning, I went to Mama, saw Nancy went to Anna, shaved Mr Hill went to Mr Taylors to see him about the rent of the land Tate & I covered the body of the tobacco house etc Tom Grimes worked in the shop till 12 ock to day George Grimes came tosee me about ditching etc started sowing wheat sowed about 1 1/2 bushels - Llewellyn staid to hand slabs to day from scool wheat 1/2 bu rakeing wheat land sowed 1/2 bu wheat washed it Ball Head wheat halled 2 lodes corn commenced shucking last night

Fair I went to Carmel Bro Broaddus preached I stayed to the division and was instaled to the office of W.A. there wer 16 members I went to Bro Samls at night. Thomasia & children went over in the evening from home. William Samuel went to Carmel & to Ma, 2 cowws of Mr Fountains in my corn field sowed some wheat 2 1/2 bu rakeing it in by rock spring swinging tobacco etc John rode colt to Muster

Bro Broaddus preached Bob Fox spoke, saw Cally Hill at meeting, Mary came down to Bro Saml, We came over home Sally Johnson was at meeting, I took a pair of boots of Bro Saml at three dollars & fifty cents

A few drops of rain this evening Grimes came to ditch ditched all day I sowed wheat by rock spring finished the right side of the parth I cleaned out rock spring, ploughing etc Emily Talley Betty Gouldin rode up this evening 2 Miss Terrells came with Harriet to night. one of my lambs died yesterday Jessey had a ball shoe thread sowing wheat 3 bu rakeing it in ploughing left hand side parth by rock spring halling up corn etc put the tobacco in house

Grimes ditching Tate sent to let me know he was sick - I went this evening to try to shoot lamb. Sister Sarah went to Bro Saml with Kentuckyns etc sowed 2 bushels wheat washed 1 bu moved several piles rocks warming & suckering tobacco rakeing fallowing

Fair warm day I rode to Mama, saw Betty G Molly & Betty Redd, Betty went to Mr Gouldins invited themup this evening to eat ice cream etc Bob sowed 2 1/2 bags guano commencing on swamp that runs to meadow back of kitchen John Watkins & Robert made a axle tre for Ma I hoed up the hog pen in little pines to sow wheat I went to Anna, shaved Mr. Hill. Anna wants my steer to fatten one 1/2 for the other sowed 2 1/2 bags guano ploughed it in burning brush worming tobacco suckering etc beeting clods in wheat patch

Fair very warm day I rode to Ma, & old Mr Taylors to see him about cutting my tobacces. I paid John Wadkins 3 dollars & gave him my note for one hundred & 2d dollars John had my shop keys this evening to make swingle tree etc sent old Ball steer to Anna,s to fatten one 1/2 for the other I sowed or drilled some wheat in pines & watered it etc washed 1 1/2 bu wheat sowed 1 bu. sowed 1 1/2 bags guano ploughed it in sowed 1 bu wheat on guanoed land. beeting clods in wheat patch have wheat up opening water furrows washed 1 1/2 bu wheat etc

Tom Grimes came to night with Llewellyn it,s low in cornfield pd Llewellyn 25 cts in full for Betty sowed 1/2 bushel wheat.. guanoed land faned out wheat beeting guano halled a lode fodder from Mr Taylors halled a lode rails on river

Cdy day cool 3 of Mr Fountains cows in corn field made fence on river. Mr Hall came to rent land of me, am to deside next week. stoped at Anna, shaved Mr Hill saw Miss Cally Hill Molly and girls went to Mr Gouldins yesterday evening. Mr Martin came to get 8 bushels Ma,s wheat, says he is coming to work Monday. Thomasia went to rovidence & spent the day moved cow pen & hog pen halled up some corn shucking sent a lode top fodder at Mr Taylors

Rainy day hailed a little thundered this evening. made a pair cumpices [compasses] etc faned out some wheat for Nimrod Dickinson Martin to pay for it $1.25 a bushel. Sent him 3 heads - I measured up 25 bushels white wheat etc etc I went after my hogs saw 9 or 10 brought them up shucking corn faning wheat etc etc etc

Cobbs saw one there Mr Tate came and spoke for 6 bushels of ball head wheat at $1.25 a bushel I killed a mutton stoped at Ma,s Emily went to Mr Gouldins etc I pd Tate 50 cts 25 cts for S Cobbs halled a lode leaves to stack halling up corn set a steel trap on river calling some tobacco shucking corn, killed a mutton

Frost fair a cool day Mr Taylor & John Wadkins came to help me to cut tobacco finished cutting & heeping at the barn - covered it over with straw John dined hear rode my mule away Citt Southward came to night. Miss Cally Hill sent to know if Llewellyn could go with her home Munday. He went to Smiths store for a pair shoes finished cutting tobacco & heeped it staked the cow pen halled rails wood etc

Fair mild weather I went afte a tree to make tobacco sticks [rove?] some went to Davy Cobbs & Estice,s to see Martin working at Estices, went by Mr Taylor & Ma, saw Betty Redd & Betty Gouldin at ma, Sister Sarah & Emily went to Richmond carryed butter etc. George ditching Llewellyn went to Miss Cally Hill home rode my colt a part of the way Cousin Stape starts home to day getting tobacco sticks hanging it etc etc

Fair a little cool & windy I worked 4 bushels of wheat sowed 3 1/2 bushels grimes ditching Thomasia walked to Ma, Nancy at Ma, I went to Anna, shaved Mr Hill the E Bethes were there Miss Henry pd me 6 dollars and a quarter wheat money from Mr Brook John Watkins is very much distress about a 3 dollar note. Wilton Wright came by after taxes put the cows in river field above ivy hill washed 4 bushels wheat and roled it in ashes sowed 3 1/2 rakeing it in laid of some land to sow guano finished hanging tobacco

Fair mild day Tom came by I cut his hair went to Carters I walked to Ma, saw Emma Gouldin Llewellyn got home from King William I went to see Jack Martin about his hogs promised to keep them out corn field faned out 6 bushels wheat sent it to mill brought up some lime & meal washed 4 1/2 bushels wheat sowed 1 1/2 bu sowed guano. ploughed it in rakeing etc dug irish potatoes

Fair cool I went to look for my hogs Llew carryed the little cart & Merryman went to see Mr Martin he promised to come Monday morning to work came by Lestor Cobbs fown 3 my hogs there went after them this evening brought 2 hogs home in ox cart sowing wheat on tobacco land by spring put up 8 hogs this morning by shop in pen I came by Mr Taylors sowed 3 bushels wheat on tobacco land sowed 2 bags guano & ploughed it in finished diging potatoes cutting down corn

Fair cool day I caught the bob tail hog got away again cut poles & made h pen on swamp back of kitchen. Mr Cason came to by my sheep sole my flock for 15 a piece offered 20 dollars for Robin steer Mr Southward killed his beef I took a quarter weighed 58 lbs hine qt he got part of his wheat out of varn this evening washed 1 bu wheat sowed 1 1/2 bushels rakeing it in on guanoed land, I made a hog pen siftering guano etc halling logs for hot pen etc etc

Fair pretty day I put 9 hogs in pen on the swamp sent Lanzy to the Depot for 14 bags guano damp Mr Taylor came to see his corn I went to Providence to see the Dr he was at Depot saw A Hackett come up to look at my steers wants to by for Mr Fountain went to Mr Taylors am to hall up his corn for the shucks went to Anna, shaved Mr Hill went to Ma, Betty & Betty walked a part of the way with me shelled a turn new corn sent to Depot for guano etc sawed 3 bags guano rakeing it in on red land by walnut tree cutting down corn working in wheat patch went to Taylors to tote up fodder

Fair cdy evening I washed 4 bu wheat sowed 8 bu guanoed land put up my tobacco in house, went to Mr Taylors, saw Mr Hall sowing wheat put my 2 sheep with the others by barn saw Miss B Hill Sister Sarah & Emily got back from Richmond & brought Ma a letter got 2 from Depot one from John the others from Dandridge Mr Southward was here tipsy this evening - -- - - Daniel Webster is dead [d. Oct 24, 1852] sowed 3 bushels wheat 1 1/2 rye raked it in halled up some corn put up the tobacco put up a stack w of top fodder at Mr Taylors

Cdy day Mr Martin came to work on tobacco house commenced slabing the shed James cason came for my sheep he got 29 at $2.50 cts a piece, pd the money saw Miss Patsy Hill at Anna, borrowed $2.50 cts of Miss Henry to change a note for Cason saw Hardyman at my barn sent to mill for flour & meal sent a turn of new corn got some slabs from the mill Betty Redd went to Mr Gouldins Martin got his book Tom offer sowed 2 bags guano raked it in sowed 1 1/2 bu wheat sent to mill halling up coarn pulling off etc shuckin corn

Foggy morning cdy part of the day I went to the mill for plank and got 16 planks 16 feet long 9 1/2 in wide Miss Emily Gatewood broke up her scool I washed 2 1/2 bu wheat siftering guano etc finished sowing the fallow field sowed 32 bu in all Moncure came by to day Henry  came for 12 lbs wool etc Wheat sowed 33 bu sowed 1 1/2 bags guano in corner left of parth as you go to Ma, sowed 2 1/2 bu wheat raked it in beet up 4 or 5 bags guano went to mill for planks nocking clods in wheat patch etc

Stoped at Ma,s john working at Anna,s carryed my dog away this morning hunter bob went to Depot for 5 bags guano & 2 bls plaster etc etc shucking corn carrying rocks off of the wheat patch etc moved cow pen etc.
