Cdy day a little rain to night put old sow in pen by shop turned out the sow to night cleaned out the corn house put 2 1/2 bls corn from Anna,s wadi [valley] new ground, carryed 3 bags guano 400 lbs sowed it by gate going to Mt Airy raking it in shaved Mr Hill saw Bro Saml going to Winston made a line 70 yds long Canfield mended rod to rake saw N Luck etc some saw wile geese sowed 400 lbs guano raked it in halling up corn pulling off sent 2 cows to Ma, pasutre to day |

Rain little thundered and lightened saw rainbow I went to Canfields to have nose piece on ox cart made 14 nails etc went to the Election & voted for Scott & Graham [whig presidential candidate, General Winfield Scott and William Graham] a tin peddler came tonight has a dog in wagon had an earthquake tonight [felt particularly strongly in Fredericksburg, Richmond & Scottsville] sowed 494 lbs guano & raked it in sowed 1 1/2 bu wheat raked it in beet up guano pulling corn sent to mill for meal & planks |

Fair a pretty day the pedlar went away after breakfast I bought 2 tins one for bob & 1 for Moriah pd 50 cts he gave us 1/2 doz plates he went by Anna I washed 4 1/2 bu wheat & sowed it finished the fallowed land it took 8 bu to sow the land - got 8 planks from mill 9 feet 3 in long 10 in wide sowed 6 1/2 bu wheat raked it laid off some land to sow guano burnt the [hunhest?] grass off halling up corn faned out some wheat shucking corn etc etc etc etc |

Fair mild sent guano down to sow by Canfields - sowed I got a qt of beef of Hardyman 25 3/4 lbs finished his rake had some guano hal[led] up got a paper from Anna, I shot 3 birds by Mt Airy gate sowed 400 lbs guano & ploughed it in carryed 311 lbs to barn halled a lode pine leaves grubing in wheat patch shucking corn etc. |

Rain a little shower or two I went down to lore barn & to where they wer sowing guano etc I washed 5 bu wheat & roled it in lime saw several persons going to sale at Hardymans Edmond left Carts hear to night sowee 357 lbs guano & ploughed it in finished the field by Canfields ploughing raked in 2 bu wheat pulling off corn halled up one lode and put away my sweet potatoes |

Fair a large frost cold morning saw ice put up the corn 4 lodes and a half 3 barrels & 1/2 in a lode Dabney came for his money $1.00 for shoes Tate came to look at the land to tend at old place I went to Mr. Rennols & to Trevilllions looking for a hog I bought 3 back bands of Flemming at 23cts a piece Edmond came for Sister Sarah to stay with Louisa I shaved Mr Hill this evening put up about 18 bls corn sent to mill for meal etc commenced ploughing on the River hill for wheat halling up corn etc |

Fair a cool day large frost saw ice ground frozen a little crust I went to Ma, & Mr Taylers - saw Wm Harris hunting at Mamas, - Kitty came over to night - I washed 2 bu wheat & left it in the water in brine, Mama, sent a 1/2 of a little beef to me sowed 3 bu wheat finished the land by Canfields & moved to new ground sowed 150 lbs guano & ploughed it in cutting down corn stalks and halling them home cut out 2 hogs weight 65 each |

Fair mild raked & halled 4 loads leaves walked to Mama,s & old Mr Taylors he is shucking his corn sent 44 lbs beef to Mama,s Miss Henry quilting at Ma, & the Terrells wer here this evening halled 4 loads leaves raking leaves commenced fallowing for corn on the hill by little pines grubing cutting wood etc etc etc I am makg a frame for the cart body |
