Thrashing w

Fair warm day I went to my new barn thrashing wheat there, had 3 hands from Anna & 2 from Mt Airy & 3 or 4 hands from Mr Gs thrashed my wheat that was made on the guanoed lot Betty Redd E Gouldin & Charles came up to night. Thrashing wheat etc.

Fair warm day I finished thrashing wheat & oats & shelled 2 turns corn I opened the coalts leg it bled a good deel put on manure & spirits - terpentine on to stop the blood Tom G & Llewellyn went coon hunting to night at ? finished thrashing wheat & oats etc shelled corn etc.

Fair a little cool the coalt seems to be worse commenced putting fodder by Anna, on my land sent to mill saw Mr Noel Hackett came for his things this evening Grimes at work to day pulling fodder fallowing grubing etc on the River

Cdy most of the d. cool some weads by rock spring Roburt ran up chimney at Ma, kitchen put a red oak poltice [tanin acts as antiseptic] on coalts leg seems to be a little better pulling fodder commenced by my house this evening fallowing on the ditch near river grubing etc.

Cdy a little fine rain my grey coalt has her leg broke Miss Patsy Hill & Mrs Hill at Anna. Parker is ditching for me commenced by ivy hill in Ma, Betty & Lucy went to Mt Airy to spend the night I made a shaft for Barouch Pulling fodder shocking etc. fallowing on ditch, Parks ditching, grubing etc etc

Rain several hard showers I went to Carmel with Mr Gouldin finished preaching before I got there I went with Bro Broaddus to T.C. & dined Bro Saml stayed to the Suns meeting I had the grey coalt nocked in the head this morning her leg was broken by some one fallowing grubing halling wood for Ma faned out 5 bushels wheat for Ma & sent it to mill

Rain showery we went to Carmel Bro Broaddus preached text Xth ct romans 1st verse I drove Betsys grey Ma,s horses cut capers to carriage [engaged in frantic dances]

Rain a hard shower or two I went to Boling green to coart carryed a sample of wheat left a bag at B.G. Sister Sophia Redd got to Ma, this evening from Louisa [sister-in-law Sophia Pleasants Burton Redd, 1803-1861]

Fair very warm day I went to Carmel to help rase the temperance hall we raised it about 4 feet saw Mr Carter at Mama, he went to see Mr Gouldin Mrs Hewlett died last night Mr C wants to by Mr Gs land etc. Pulling fodder shelled corn & sent it to mill for Ma & I.

Fair very warm day Sister Sophia went over to Mr Gouldins this evening put up 2 stacks of fodder to day one on the parth by Meadow & one by Moriah, house Edge Hill Thomasia went to Mr Hardymans stacking fodder 2 stacks shocking etc pulling this evening fallowing on the river 1/2 day

Fair very warm day & night Tom Grimes & Llewellyn went after my turkeys & stated them about 8 in all Mrs Mal Hill & Mrs Grimes at Anna, I went to see Mr. Noel Put up a stack fodder pulling fodder cutting tops Peter laid up to day fallowing on the river this morning Grimes & Aaron cutting weeds at rock spring

Rain a very heavy one in the evening very warm day we went to Linnaeus in the evening Wm Duke joined the Sons at Lukes saw Tyler at Lins I went turkey hunting saw one or two turkeys did not get a shoot a boy is very sick at Lins cutting tops shocking fodder halled a lode of wwods in lot Aaron & Tom cutting weeds on meadow etc worked a little over 2/3 day

Rain a little in the morning cdy day cool we went to Bro Saml after breakfast spent the day there Molly complaining of her head

Fair cool day we came over home to day Betty & Edmond came over with us Edmond & I went to look for the turkeys Betty & Emily G & Betty Redd & Lucy Robinson came up to night to spend the night pulling fodder finished on Ma, land etc Wm Swann sent for his corn to day

Fair cool day I went with Edmond hunting killed 22 squirls 2 birds in Mr Harrises Wm Harris with us I went up to see him about buying Lanzy, gave him $218. for him. He is going to his wifes to night Louisa Gouldin came up to Mama, pulling fodder cutting tops etc etc.

Fair frost this morning Tom came up this ["morning" crossed out] evening to see about Davy I had a chill or chillyness I faned out 5 bushels wheat mammouth & sent it to Dr Gourdins at $1.50 a bu Pulling fodder by my barn shocking stacking etc. Aaron cutting bushes & weeds

Fair cool day frost this morning Lanzy came to day finished pulling fodder cutting tops etc Mr Gouldin came for 11 lbs shingle nails best kind borrowed. Finished fallowing on the river & pulling fodder cutting tops cutting brushes etc.

Fair mild weather I went to orchard with Thoma[s] & Betty for apples Louisa & Sister Sarah went to Bro Saml, Henry Frith & Clarance came over this evening Aaron & Bob working on Dr, 3 H.P. stacking fodder on the hill on my land next to Canfields stack cutting tops finished at Edge Hill

Fair mild day sent for Dr. Anderson to see Milly Jane I went to Carmel to the Division but few members putting out side steps to Carmel for the servants benefit, plastering the temperance Hall Cousin Mary Ann & Sister Emily dined at Mama, Robert patched up the lot turned out some hogs at corn field new ground. Cutting tops stacking fodder 2 stacks on my land or under my barn shet

Fair mild we went to Carmel Bro Reynoldson preached twice to day text in the morning 4th chapter 2nd Corrin. 3 & 4th versess [II Cor: 3-4] the chapter this evening was Matthew 22nd chapter 11 & 12 verses - the marriage supper- a great many persons at meeting Dr. Gouldin came up

Cdy we went to Carmel Bro Reynoldson preached in the morning Bro Montague preached came with Bro Broaddus very good preaching but little feeling we went to T. Castle in the evening I rode John Betsy to Ma, carriage cutting tops etc etc

Cdy cool we went to Carmel Bro R. preached in the morning Bro M in the evening good preaching. Mary Minor & others went up to the anxious seets [benches before the altar for those seeking conversion] one girl professed tohave a hope - a Miss Burruss [profession of repentance & salvation] the preachers came up to Mama, Molly Emily Talley & Mr T. Dr G etc I stayed till after supper finished the tops today

Fair after the morning rain last night a little & this morning, a cool day, north win I went to Mama, & to Carmel carryed Bro Reynoldson & Emily & Molly in my Barouch Miss R Henry went with Molly home Bro Reynoldson preached twice to day - Dr G paid me $6.90 cts for 5 bu wheat pd H. Lowery $5.00 for Bro Poindexter & man $1.25 cts for Sister Sarah commenced raking the landfor wheat grubing etc. Peter mallnig rails for stack

Fair a cool day we went to Carmel Bro Reynoldson preached morning & evening & Mr Gracy spoke this evening. 2 ladies joined the church & several persons nelt for prayer etc cutting rail timber at Ma malling rails grubing etc rakeing in river lot.

Rain in the evening I went to Walker Terrells carryed his great coat [large wool overcoat] & I went to Wm or Mrs Terrells borrowed of her $220. & paid ["it" lined out] to Mr Wm Harris $218. for Lanzy started to Bro Saml came back rained stacking tops I counted 106 shocks 17 in C landing rakeing etc.

Fair cool Lewis redd came over with me for his tin & brush I went back to Bro Saml in the evening Bro Saml & wife Edmond John & Sam went to Richmond John & Sam going to scool collage in Richmond Lewis went to Mr Talleys to point his carriage Williams came to see me about chimney am to give him 10 dollars for his work Finished my top stack & commenced Mama, Tom Grimes helping from breakfast till night rakeing faned out 16 bu wheat mammouth for seed
