Fair cool I came over from Bro Saml went to see Bro Watkins & John faned out 12 bushels Ball head wheat to sow & went over to Bro Saml. Molly is sick halled san rocks etc for house rakeing by my barn and field laying off rows to sow wheat faned out 12 bu

Fair mild weather I came over home from Bro Saml & went back in the evening Bro Saml & wife got back from Richmond this evening Molly out again I commenced sowing wheat & rakeing it in sowed 4 bu ball head wheat on the high hill by rock spring Williams went home to night 4 bu rakeing the land by Anna sowing wheat 4 bu commenced shucking corn at my stack cutting down & halling etc.

Fair we came from Bro Saml home stopped & gathered apples at old place stopped at Ma, one of my ewes dead and the wool pulled off sowing wheat 36 3bu sowing wheat 3 bu rakeing it in etc finished the tops at Ma, halling up corn shucking to night cutting down Roburt finished rakeing over by Anna, Bob sick to day

Fair cool evening I went to Carmel Bro Broaddus preached text 2nd Peter 18th verse of 3rd chapter Thomasia & I went to Beaver dam to funeral of My Huletts family Bro Broaddus went to Bro Saml Betty came with us to Mama, Williams at work to day Bro Saml family at meeting 3 bu sowing wheat 3 bu raked it in halling up corn working on chimney shelled corn sent to mill brought up a lode corn etc.

Fair cool day we went to Carmel Bro Broaddus preached Baptizing this morning Martha & Livvy wer Baptized 4 ladies joined the church meeting this evening for the colorer[d] persons benefit

Clear most of the day very pretty day & night Mr Wright came & got my note for the money for things bought at Sale year before last $11.66 in all Mr Bartlett Gatewood died last night at Chilesburg supposed to be killed John Watkins came to day to live with me till next Xmast 12 months for $120 the year 4 bu faned out some wheat to day 7 bu mammouth & 2 of ball head sowed 4 bu ball head halling up corn shucking & rakg 2 rakes etc etc

Fair a pretty day Mr Gouldin came to turn cogs & spent the evening did not finish I went to Dr Andersons engaged some bricks & fan etc went to Bro Saml brought my book & some cotton for Thomasia Dr quite poly with coal [cold] Bro Talks coming over tomorrow & send iron etc to mill Williams came to work on chimney Grimes came to breakfast ["Edmond Redd brought an old wagon of Dr N Nelson for $100" - lined out] sent to Depot for frock for Thosa 7 bu sowing wheat on the river mammouth sowed 7 bu to day finished the field halilng up corn shucking etc dug my potatoes back of the garden 3 hampers full rakeing in the wheat choping a round stumps etc

Fair pretty day felt badly to day Wm Swann came to shop with small wagon to iron up Mr G. finished turning cogs etc I went to Anna, Sparks is to ditch to night no 1 field raking on swamp & opened the water furrows [for irrigation] changing them out etc choping around the stumps etc ploughing by the shop & house 2 ploughs halling rocks hay etc sent to T Castle for wheat fan & 280 bricks Williams working on chimney John W went for trunk etc.

Fair mild day Williams finished the chimney etc commenced runing some rock pillers under the corn house I put a spoke in carry all wheel for Mr Wadkins etc Edmond Redd came to shop I swaped a drawing knife for a purce & went to old place saw a ewe killed sowing wheat on fallowed land by Anna, Thomasia complaining of her head to night - sowing wheat by my barn on ditch 2 bu ploughing faning out some seed wheat ball head - sowed 2 bu rakg in etc halling up rock for corn house rase it etc cleaning out water furrows etc shucking corn halling etc etc etc etc

Foggy morning I killed an old ram for killing my ewes he killed 7 sheep for me I patched up my barouch etc we went over to Bro Saml in the evening I gave Lanzy 25 cts Wm Swann & Saml at Bro Saml. 5 bu 3 pecks sowing wheat by Anna, sowed 5 bu 3 pecks finished the fallowed land commenced gathering the corn at new ground by Hills shop etc Halling up corn at Ma, stack

Foggy morning Thomasia Mary & I went to Mt Olivet to the Dover Assiation [Dover Association was a Baptist regional group covering Richmond, Caroline & Hanover Counties, etc.] Bro Saml & boys went Bro Howel preached the instroductory sermon text Isaiah 1st verst 52nd chapter but few persons Wm & Saml Sw2ann at Bro Saml halling up corn new ground & burrying the stalks etc ploughing shucking corn etc etc

Rain a shower faned out W Southworth oats measured 43 bu he says for meat   cts a bu & 9 pu for himself Anna had 10 bu Matthews wheat at 80cts a bu faned up 25 bushels to send to mill fixed my fan etc I roded to old place & to Mama, Molly Minor at Ma, Mr Noel broke up scool for this week faning wheat 10 bu for Anna + 25 for self 43 bu oats for Mr South[worth] ploughing by spring at Ma, 3 D.D. [double plows] halling up corn etc shucking tonight etc etc

Fair a large frost cool day I rode to Mama, or to hog pen out gate put up the hogs mine & Mama, got out 1 put up 15 of mine on the swamp back of barn -- Molly at Ma, (Grimes went to election at Golansville - 6 bu ploughing by spring rakeing in wheat sowed 6 bushels Mama, rakeing it in & cutting & halling corn sent to mill 25 bu wheat put up the hogs etc etc

2 bu Plouging on the meadow for wheat at Mama sent to mill sent wheat to mill for Ma, & barells for my wheat sent 6 bu for Ma, sowed 2 bushels of Matthews wheat for Ma.

Mr Hill Anna & Betty came up to see me to day brought Thomasia a rose bush sent for harriet at Wm Swanns Lewis Redd passed by my barn this evening faning wheat sent for flour 5 bls to mill. Mr Wiltcher came by to day faning wheat to send to Richmond halling corn shucking etc cutting down corn etc etc faned out about 50 bu wheat
