Fair most of the day a drop or two of rain in the evening I went to Carmel Bro Broadus  coal wer there Cole preached text Hebrews 12 ct 1 part of 2nd verse [Hebrews 12:2] coolday Taylor S Luck just got back from the west

Fair warm Mr Martin rode upon Dr Dickinsons horse put on a shoe on his lame foot put a pole to Southward, wagon went back. I hived a swarm of bees in my hive at Ma, Martins, wife very sick. Mr Southward brought up some hats & came to Thomasia a preasent, plastered the potatoe vines in garden coaltering the corn etc.

Rain a shower Dr Anderson went to see Mrs Cartercame by had a shoe nailed on his horse, I helped to hive a 5 bees at Mama, [coty?] lode up weeding corn etc near ivy hill on hill by walnut trees

Fair warm day John McL Anderson [brother-in-law John McLaughlin Anderson, 1832-1881] came up to day & dined I worked on the Dr buggy wheel to day Betty Redd & Lucy came up this evening - Grimes sick this morning went home - Hackett borroweed 1/2 galon oil of England - [train?] weeding corn by Canfields

Rain a shower last night & this evening I finished the Dr. buggy wheel Joh came for it this evening. Canfield put on the tire Grimes went to Bro Saml this evening after his [hat?] failed to [get it?] put my cows & steers in the pasture next to ivy hill came very near finishing weeding corn for the first time to day at ivy hill

Fair warm day I rode to T Castle to see the Dr. carryed my road account to have filled up gave ti to Hackett to send to the B green H gave the people holiday this morning after finishing the corn he went to Depo I fixed a spout to bathe my foot finished weeding the corn the first time Negroes working there patches etc etc etc

Rain this evening pretty - shower a great deal of wind with it, Mr Gouldin came by & dined I rode to Ma, to tend to feeding stock etc we went to meeting at Cty Line Bro Allen preached Marcia, Andersons funeral Bro Cabiness preached this evening the meeting will go on to morrow & next day - Thad came up to Mr g.

Fair Rained last night a hard one we went to Cty Line Bro Manly & Howel preached 2 misses Andersons talked to the church today a Miss Gatewood was baptized - Llewellyn & Thad got hear in the night

Fair a pretty day we went to Cty Line Bro Howel preached Bro Manly spoke in the evening & Bro Cabiness spoke & took his leave of the church they baptized 3 ladies the meeting broke to day to go to Warlers to morrow 4 got home to day reeplanting corn ploughed my sweet potatoes etc workingin garden etc.

Fair windy day Thad went to Davy Cobbs after Martin he came up this morning working on sythe cradles I went with Thad to Ma, Mr Martins wife is quite sick Grimes at home commenced throwing dirt [on] corn on the meadows at M[a], reeplanting etc etc

Cdy a little cool Wm Swann came with 3 horses I bought a grey of him for 90 dollars Bessie her mama - I rode to Ma, & school house Betty R[edd] came up to night Thad came up with Mr Martin [working ? -text missing] on cradles Ploughing the corn hear by house 5 ploughs

Fair a little cool I went to Mr G & to L Minors Mr Martin & bought his macine horse power am to give 3 cts the castings & 5 cts for the [roler?] we all went to the girls they made $6.00 by there fair ploughed the corn 4 furrows & the cotton potatoes & watermellon patch

Fair cool Wm Swann brought his wagon & a gig to mend he dined hear with Peppiton I rode to Anna, & to new ground at Ma, ploughing the corn at new ground Wed cotton potatoes watermellons etc thining corn ploughing it etc

Fair cool day sent to Mr Minors for machine it came to $12.50 cts Mr Martin went with Peter patched Mr Hills buggy etc altered the bellows in the shop - John Swwnn at shop to day & J [Seay?] ploughing corn weeding etc or thining

Fair a large frost for this season I went to Ma, & to scool houjse saw Ct Buttler Mr Martin went to Dick Wood folks for some ash rails engaged or spoke for some of Nimrod Dickinson 30 for $1.00 working on Swann, wheel etc Ploughing corn cotton etc at Ma, weeding potatoes etc etc

Fair most of the day it rained a drop or two I went to Ma, & to look at my wheat at old place it is very fine in places mammoth - Lewis Redd came up & dined I finished rounding spokes - Tom Grimes out cutting wheat Martin at home cutting wheat ball head & commenced at Edge HIll by the shop. ploughing etc etc

Rain a very heavy one this eveningraining now it filled up the spring etc. We went to Cty Line to meeting Bro Allen preached the funeral of Mr Carters child Thomasia got a letter from Barbara to day bythe Dr. I gave Wm Swan 12 1/2cts.

Showery & warm I carryed Thomas to Ma, to work a piece cloth worked on rafts & Llewellyn came home from Bro Saml. Aaron working out cutting wheat set out cabbage plants etc cut the wheat on new garden by Maria, house cutting by shop & garden

Fair I went to Mr Gouldins to get him to do some work for Dr Fliper Wm Swann came for a lode corn & dined hear cutting wheat by rock spring & by the kitchen etc etc

Fair warm day I rode to Providence to see Billy Quarles to get him to do some work in shop Hackett went to Depot for linen & toile Dr sent his buggy to repair cutting wheat by the barn & rock spring ploughing over by Canfields & ivy hill etc

Fair very warm I pulled off my flannel last night we went to Bro Saml in the evening I went on horeseback Martin & Billy at work on gig & buggy I hired Wm Robinson to cut wheat cutting wheat at the old place mammouth

Aunt Mary Aunt Emily & Emily Chinery are at Mama, [aunts were likely Taylors - Mary Taylor, 1778-1854; Amelia "Emily" Harris Taylor, 1789-1873] cutting wheat at Edge HIll H went to Ma, this evening & rode away some where on Sally h.
