Fair mild Mary E Meghis is at Ma, Dr Gouldin & Louisa came up this evening Wm Swann is pulling down the triming shop at Anna, Miss Henry & Mr Hill came from Richmond sowed 2 1/2 bu Mam wheat on fallowed land by peach orchard mine I went hunting killed 4 birds 1 hair in Mt Airy & T Castle. put away some apples in the garden. Dr Gouldin & Louisa -, came to Ma, wheat 2 1/2 bu 26 1/2 sowed up to sowed 1 bu gully wheat for Ma 2 of Mam by barn - ploughing in my garden - halling up corn shucking 3 bu |

Fair mild weather rather warm we went to T Castle I went to Carmel hird Bro Harris was quite sick no preaching I went from T Castle with [Col?] Buttler to Jerico pd 25cts I paid Billy Fox 50cts for Ana for ditching by the spring Mr Noel sent his cart for 5 bushels wheat gully at $1.25cts a bushel - carryed Mr Cobbs saw to T Castle he owes $2.25cts ploughing by nurcery for wheat halling wood & shucking corn at Ana & putting up stacks etc |

Fair warm day I saw Mr Kean at my barn W Swann & Martain & Tate moveing the triming shop [wagon trimming?] at Anna, I went hunting this evening shot 4 times at ducks Bob Roburt & Joh helping about the house commenced cutting down & halling up the corn out fo the field by Caulfields to my stack shucking corn to night etc etc |

Fair foggy morning Fox finished the ditch by the spring & commenced ditching on the meadow going up to the frog pond Roburt triming the ditch I went to the depot to see about lime & it has not come got a letter from Dandridge saying hehas not got the bags yet pd 5cts forthe letter ploughing in new ground by Canfields halling up the corn from there shucking etc etc |

Cdy day, cool north win I offered Wm Swann twenty five hundred dollars for his land, through Martin. Johns Toles work-man cut his foot - very bad. shucking corn at Ma, stack have 3 pens. Fox commenced a new ditch on the meadow below old pond - finished sowing wheat for Ma, by Canfields sowed 1 1/2 bushels - finished rakeing it in shucking corn putting it up & stacks etc. makeing 1 1/2 bu 25 12 in all for Mama, -- |

Rainy day hailing to night cool day killed a veal this evening Emma, calf Brag bit Llewellyn this evening I gave him a slashing cut out Bob & Jims shoes Bob makeing them - Mr Hackett makeing soles etc. Ma had a side leather of me 17 cts killed a veal makeing shoes Ma took a side leather that I got in Fredericksburg at the price I gave for it |

Fair cool & windy day - washed my gun went to look for the turkeys Tribbles hill I hird that John Anderson died yesterday from taking laudnum [tincture of opium] I caught 2 hairs this evening Wm Swann started to Amhurst this morning to look for a track of land Dr Gouldin came up to Ma, to night moved my cow pen & halled out manure put away my greens halled away some brush & load leaves halled some wood shucking corn etc. |

Rain this evening quite hard I went to the Boling green I received of Wm Gouldin 25 dollars for Sister Sarah I paid Mr Hart $21.64 cts for Mr Farish I spent 37 1/2 cts to day Dr Gouldin and family went down home Ella & Mary Eliza spent the day at Ma, halling out manure for wheat ploughed the garden & cow pen shucking corn etc. |

Fair a mild day I went to look for the turkeys by Wares & Coalmans saw some sine [sign] Mr Hackett & I went to Coalmans shot 5 times at 2 turkeys they went over the river saw a great many tracks the river is very full saw a passel of Dickensons hunting finished halling the corn by old barn swamp shucking etc sent to mill for meal the water is two high to grind Hackett killed a halk got the partridge |

Fair a large frost pretty day Thad came to Mama, this evening had one of his bones in his leg brake a short time ago caught a large hair sowed some wheat in new garden rakeing it in Bob went to Depot for coal wheat 1/2 bu halling up corn shucking sent to mill for meal sowing wheat etc. |

Cdy day a south win warm day I went hunting killed 1 bird gave it to Lucy Mr Cobb & I caught 1 hair commenced fallowing for oats by Mt Airy gate, cutting down corn stalks & ploughing them in the ground by Hills shop near ground. Mr Carter Edmond Charles & Thad went in Hanover hunting this morning. Put up my cattle to day. I sharpened Mary Minors, scissors halled 5 or 6 lodes dirt in my farm pen put up cattle ploughing for corn oats etc etc halled a load wood etc |

I paid Jefrey $3.00 for Miss B Hill on Caty & Moriah, account worked on the road to day throwing out saw at mill I paid Bro Lowery 50cts for the working society I had a trade with Mr Sanders for a dog at Jerico there wer 2 names proposed & Burruss was one. Peter shoemakeing. makeing a cow shelter at Ma, halling leaves to my stack halling wooed covering greens etc. |
