Fair cool we went by or to T Castle left Thomasia & children & went to Carmel Bro Harris preached they appointed a commitey to wat [wait?] on W Southward & John Tranam for getting drunk I went to Jerico pd 10cts Miss D Anderson & A Anderson & Mary wer at T Castle went over the river in the evening set out 13 peach trees sowing oats 1 bu ploughing rakeing fencing etc etc covered the ice |

Fair very cold morning & last night was very cold I went to Mrs Lucks to get some hay for Mama, stock bought 2 stacks ofhay of Keling Luck for $6 - I set out a peach tree & burried some apple twigs etc hird mocking bird sing to day sent for some hay brought 2 loads for Ma sowing oats sowed 2 bushels cutting & halling wood etc etc |

Fair cold morning the ground hard frozen, mild evening. I sowed a bag or hirds grass seed by ice pond Saw Mr Talley he went to Wm Swanns & to Mr Gouldins to night - ploughing in oats sowed 3 1/2 bu rakeing etc sent to Mrs Lucks for hay bought a stack - grubing by Canfields etc faned out a few oats ruffle oats & sowed on the hill front of house |

Rainy day it commenced in the night last still raining. Miss Brown is at Mama's lent Spicar my hatchet. Shelling corn beet out some Hurds grass seed faned out my oats 23 bushels ruffle Bob commenced a fish trap for me Roburt had a ball shoe thread |

Fair cool day. We went to Anna, & dined Mr Harris pd me 50cts. the ballance for wheat bought 1849. put the post in around the garden by dary pink has a good many sweet harts sowing oats this evening rakeing them in with 2 rakes ploughing by wheat tree ivy hill malling on the river & burning brush etc etc |

Fair miled I sowed 2 bags of hurds grass seed by the ice pond burnt the pasture land at Mama, by the river Charles Gouldin came over in my boat carryed it back again Anna gave me some money to pay W Wright I puled a tooth for Sister Sarah. Cutting malling & sowing oats by ivy hill sowed 9 bushels rakeing with 2 rakes ploughing Mr Hackett killed Pink to day. |

Fair cool most of the day Thomasia & I went to Brother Sams & spent the day came home this evening It is reported that Dr Taylor shot a negro that came in his house with a club & spoke to her received no answer after ordering her 2 or 3 times to speak shot her crippled her etc. |

Fair a cool morning I sowed a bag of seed, grass, seed finished sowing grass seed - Thad went to Depot for sugar salt etc. sowing oats on the river sowed 1 bu & 2 pecks my oats below the ivy hill finished at Mama, burnt a plant bed & sowed cabage seed etc in garden plougning it etc ploughing garden at Mama, sowed some ruffle oats Katy had baby pd Suckey $1.00 |

Rain a small shower or 2 ploughed my garden & the one by the house planted a patch of Irish potatoes halled manure for it etc hoed guano in 1 row 3-row this way finished the Kale & one at Mama ploughed onions peas etc. lent my barouch to Anna & Sister Sarah to go to Dr G halled 3 or 4 loads rails & done up the fence from gap to scool house looking for my sheep etc ploughing & planting potatoes etc Joh finished rakeing oats land ploughing by out gate for corn etc. |

Rainy morning, fair evening I went to Mr Dukes to get some oats for Mama bought 15 bushels for $6. paid the money the oats are German oats - sent Hackett for the oats - Thomasia & I walked over to Mama, sowing oats by the mill sowed 5 bushels ruffle oats - finished the fence by the mill halling rails etc. |

Cdy a part of the day Thomasia & I went to Mrs Gouldins she worked a piece of cloth I saw Bro Saml at the mill & others [word lined through] finished ssowing oats to day sowed about 6 bu Hackett says we have sowed 81 1/2 bushels in all Anna & Sister Sarah got back from Dr Gouldins sowed 6 bu oats finished to day ploughing cotton patch potatoe patch etc cutting & malling rails did pines for self |

Rain fine rain cdy day I lent my saw to Mr Evins to get slabs for garden getting them by new ground near Anna, line is to get 500 - cutting malling halling rails & fencing ploughing by nursery & Mama, cotton patch etc. ploughed my water mellon patch etc. |

Snowed a little very cool day I went to Mr John Wm Turners for some sweet potatoes for Bro Saml & Mr Gouldin & self I got 1 1/2 bu for each of us price 75cts a bushel I put mine in a hot bed 1 1/2 bushels fencing got to colt pen halling rails out to mill etc. Bob & Joh ploughing - for Anna 1/2 day for each plough |

Cdy day very cool day saw ice 1/8 thick the frozen or crusted Napoleon Luck came for some peach trees got the trees ploughing Anna, lot 2 ploughs finished the pasture fence working on new ground by Canfields halling straw & hay etc ploughing for Anna |

Cdy day snow a few flakes - cold morning the ground was hard frozen burning brush - set 2 hens one on duck eggs - ploughing for Anna 2 poughs Bob ploughed 2 days & a forth John stoped about 12 ock Peter halling wood for Mama halling rails with my cart burning brush at piece new ground Joh Jersey came by to get a list of property |

Snow till breakfast fair evening the snowfel last night about 4 inches on an average 1 foot in places it melted a great deel to day cool to night like winter time Edmond dined hear & will spend the night he has a grey horse putting snow in ice house sent to Swanns for waggeon to go for corn at Turners |

Gouldin] part of her children Dr Mr Gouldin & Thad spent the day at Bro Saml - - old Mr Noal dined there the monthof March was very cold and disagreable day, a good deel of snow rain etc. |
