Fair Mrs. McLaughlin died last night about 20 minutes past 12 ock I came home went to Carmel to get Bro Harris to preach the funeral he preached it in the evening & went to Edmond Andersons Mr Gouldin made the coffin got 1/2 bl meal from the mill cutting tops tying up etc. |

Rainy day we came over to T Castle with the Corps & burried it spent the evening there cutting tops a little Bob laid up to day sour throad etc. |

Fair a cool morning large dew halling fodder put up one end of the stack& commenced the other killed a mutton sent a plough to Swanns shop Vass came by wants his fan cutting down corn putting fodder rakeing etc. I killed 2 birds Mama had 9 1/2 bushels matthews wheat at $1.15cts a bushel |

Rain showery finished the top stack I put up a round stack sent the Dr fan home & sent for the ballance of the guano commenced sowing gully wheat sowed 1 1/2 bushels rakeing it in & halled a load corn & I went hunting after turkeys saw one dined at Mr Gouldins killed 1 burd stacking fodder sowing wheat cutting corn halled one load sent to T Castle for guano commenced chucking corn |

Fair a (stout frost) very cool morning I went with Thad after turkeys killed 2 birds (Thad killed a halk I raked u 150 lbs guano) sowing gully wheat sowed 2 1/2 bushels rakeing it in & ploughing around the fence sowed it by Anna, etc. sent to shop for plough etc sowing wheat raking etc holling up corn shucking at night |

Rainy evening a small frost I sowed one and a half bags of guano & ploughed it in by my barn. ploughing with double plough & single one opened water farrow etc sowing wheat nearly one bushel ploughing in guano rakeing wheat shelling corn etc etc siftered & beet up 5 bags guano |

Fair it rained most of the night made a hog pen etc I went hunting this evening killed 8 birds dog stood several times ploughing in front of the house cutting down hallilng up corn etc |

Fair a large frost I cut a barrel 1 made 2 tubs washed one barrell wheat sowed a part Bob rakeing it in I killed 3 birds Mr Kemp (?) Evans got 3 bushels wheat matthews at $1.10 cts a bushel he is to pay 75 cts to Mrs Patison for hire of Nelson one day he still owes me 58 cts I put up 18 hogs to day washed & sowed 1 1/2 bushels Mammoth wheat by my barn sent corn to mill, sowed guano & ploughed it in 2 bags full ploughing on the swamp etc dry Irish potatoes red ones etc halled a load corn shucking etc. |

Fair most of the day cdy to night I sowed 2 bags of guano I ploughed it in I sowed 3 bushels mammoth wheat rakeing it in etc. faned out 84 bushels wheat niadely(??) Cobbs Anna had 8 by 3 pecks Purkins had 2 1/2 lbs shot at 8 cts a lb sowing wheat 3 1/2 bu halling corn ploughing by barn sent a plough to shop pointed it shuckin diging potatoes finished diging |

Cdy most of the day Rained a little to night I sowed about 1/2 bushel mammoth wheat & raked it in brought over 2 1/2 bu Matthews wheat & sowed it about the house rakeing it in etc. Hackett is ploughing at the end of the house I went hunting killed 7 birds John came by to day. Sowing wheat ploughing halling up corn cutting down, etc. etc. |

Cdy & drop or two of rain cool day I killed a small beef to day Anna had a part of it Imended Mr Hills harness the ends of traces etc I sowed about 1 bushel of Matthew wheat at the end of the house and 3 pecks of gully wheat in the old garden & back of the kitchen etc. I had a corn shucking Mama, hands came over etc. sowing wheat ploughing rakeing shucking corn halling up etc etc etc |

ploughed a little I sent 2 1/2 bushels wheat to mill shucking corn most of
the day I have about 23 or 5 bls shucked out shucking corn halled 2 loads

Rain a little I went to Mr Swanns to go turkey hunting I killed 1 turkey we went to Bro Sams in the evening found Bro Harris there Edmond Redd came & spent the day Beag [beagle?] bit his leg, a heavy due ploughing & sowing wheat rakeing it in etc. halling up corn I sowed 1 bu Matthews wheat in the old orchard & by the ?? bars etc. |

Rain commenced last night & rained all day most of the night Sundy night We spent the day at Bro Sams Llewellyn went to Mrs Swanns Saturday to stay a day or two we hired Mrs. Atkinson died a weak or two ago |

Cdy day we had a very heavy rain yesterday the rivers are quite high
we walked to Lins in the evening came back to Bro Sams & spent the night |

Fair windy day I rode to the island foard to look at the river it was past foarding went to Bro Sams we went hunting looking for turkeys. Thomasia & children went up to Linnaeu, I spent the day I spoke to Mr Southward for a cow cutting down corn halled a little etc. |

Fair cool day we came for Linnaus this morning by T Castle I came by Mama, turned my coalt in Mama, by the spring set out some straw ?? is in garden by Mary etc. Mrs Talley died today 4 1/2 ock in the morning halling up corn halled 2 loads from Cobbs shucking corn etc. |

Fair a large frost cool mornings I made a shot bag & lost my ram rod killed a bird Sam & Molly Minor [his mother-in-law, Mary Overton Minor 1775-1849] came & spent the day I gave the sorrell a dose of medicine to night Anna came hear to day sent a bird to Miss Marry Swann Miss B Hill ploughing by Anna, fence & on the swamp front of the house finished ploughing this lot for wheat halled a load of corn from Cobbs halling up from the hill by Anna, & sent to mill for meal shucking corn etc etc. |

Fair mild weather I sowed 3 bushels Matthews wheat finished sowing in the lot sowed a bag of guano & ploughed it in finished sow it in the field by the barn the ground was very wet where I sowed it to day I killed 4 birds & a hair made a ox bow found gun rod rakeing in wheat finished the corn by Cobbs cutting down the manured corn halling etc. |

Fair cool the river is quite full I went by Evans looking for turkeys killed 1 bird Linnaeus came & dined hear we caught a hair in the bed had a rase lost him sowed 8 bushels matthews wheat in all finished faning out wheat faned out 42 1/2 bushels |
