Cdy most of the day & very mild day I finished sowing clover seed sowed ? bu this season working on ox cart body  Dr A came by this evening says my cow Buffalo Bow had a calf 5 day a go at T Castle - put the hogs in pasture opened the ditch by the house halled a stack of fodder from Caseys & all of the shucks grubing etc.

Rain hail & snow cool disagreeable day I lent Charles Goulding my gun today. 2 buzzards or eagles killed a pig for me to day 5 weaks old set a trap for them plaining up slats for cart body Purkins went to see his father about some oats for me Set 1 hen in hen house 13 cts cutting & halling wood

Rainy morning fair evening Mr Mat Anderson & Miss Harriet went to T Castle Llewellyn went with us I saw  the cow & calf the little buffalo I took my sheep off my wheat have 2 calves on it now cutting rail timber commenced on Ken Gouldins land
grubbing by ice pond Bob makeing fish trap - has one mde for Bro Saml herd [heard] frogs hallow etc.

Cdy most of the day I made a coffin for Sally['s] child it died this morning 1 weak old worked ox cart a little sent to T Castle for cow & calf Buffaloe sent mair to Swanns shop I had 2 old shoes nailed on 6˘ price I welded 2 links in chain
ploughing in the old garden took up the stakes halling wood & straw etc set the straw a fire by Mamas house, Prince & Kate

Cdy a few drops of rain I went to the Boling Green collected 16 dollars of Mr Kean gave it to Mr Hart & tole him to send me sugar & coffee received of W Wright $3 for working on road. Dr Gouldin pd 10 dollars to me  [Dr. Thomas Warren Gouldin, 1811-1884] for Martin we are ?? in full

Rain a little this morning Fair evening I went to Mr Gouldins to have my hair cut & cut his turned out Princetta Charles & I yoked up my little stears & hitched them to the cart. Mrs Dickinson came over - Anna went to Richmond I have 2 more lambs

Rain a little in the morning fair evening I spent the day mostly at home Mr  & Mrs Dandridge came up to stay a day or two Miss Luck & Ella came up went back to T Castle

Fair cool morning a pretty day William Dandridge & myself went duck hunting came by Mt. Airy & Annes

Rainy evening Thomasia & Mr & Mrs Dandridge went to T Castle in the Dr Carriage ? I went down in the evening Mr. Anderson & Miss Harriet Anderson were married by Bro Gates I came home in the night
ploughing burnt a plant bed inthe garden choped it over etc.

Fair mild day Mr & Mrs Anderson started for the west Dandridge & wife went to Richmond I came up home for Mama's carriage carried it for Thomasia We came up to dinner I sowed the plant bed in the garden ploughed a squair for potatoes cutting brush to cover plant bed etc.
Ploughing grubbing etc etc halled a load or 2 of wood

Sun 25 th

Rainy evening I spent the day in the house mostly Harriett fell back in the fire

Snow a little very cool morning the ground hard frozen very cool & windy day I put the sides & bottom on ox cart body (very windy indeed)

Rainy snow fell last night about 1 1/2 inches it drifted 3 or 4 inches deep - a constant north east win the win has been at the north most of the year there is snow in banks in corners of fence etc I sent Jeff to Purkins for 10 bushels oats at 35cts a bu set a trap for a mink I killed a roster [rooster]  & hen
cutting & halling wood sent to mill for meal etc etc

Cdy morning fair evening rain last night there is snow in banks to night - I burnt the straw by Mama's house etc commenced Mr Adams, ['s] wheel took one to pieces - Mama & Mrs Mercy came over
