Fair most of the day it thundered very cool morning cool day cutting wheat Sister Sarah & Lucy dined hear to day Roburt commenced cutting about 1/2 past 2 ock finished cutting the Matthews wheat & the gully wheat 28 shocks by canfields commenced cutting sed shuck Peter had 2 lbs sugar at 16 3/4 cts 1/2 sowled a pair of shoes charged 16 cts

Fair very warm indeed I halled all the wheat in my field 3 loads meaertareanean 2 sed shuck halled 2 loads from new3 ground by Cobbs - halling wheat ploughing corn by Anna, fence watermellon vines etc.

Fair a cool day I took a phyisick [medicine, especially a cathartic] last night & this morning Mama & Dr A came hear to day Sallys chile William Franklin died to day - - a funeral was preached by Bro Harris of Bro Estis Elliott

Fair Dr Anderson came by left medicine for old Lucy at L Dickinsons - finished ploughing 4 furrows by S Cobbs commenced in my new ground ploughing & weeding & thining - sent Rose & Emma to T Castle. Sent to mill got a turn meal - shocking hay this eveining ploughing & weeding corn

Fair I pointed a plough Robert ploughing for me Mr Evans came to cut oats cut today finished cuffing tying up etc cut some hay - I spoke to Mr Harris or authorised him to get me I turn gwano with Mr Wartons sent to mill got 1 bl meal 2 turns Mr Hill lent me his papers I went to T Castle & Providence looking for planter - ploughing by the house & on the road throughing [throwing] the dirt to the corn & brakeing out balks etc - cutting & finished the oats

Rain till dinner I put my hogs in my wheat field by Canfields and the mare & coalt we went T Castle in the evening Ella sent her harness up I beet out my bawl head wheat & some of the mammoth fenced in my oats & shed of the barn halling rails etc

Fair We spent the day at T Castle Linnaeus & wife [Edmonia Thomasia Trevillian Anderson, 1826-1910] came over. We came up home this evening Llewellyn went to Sunday scool left him at T Castle bear bit a pupy very hard this morning - put the males in the pasture
