Cdy misty morning I finshed the little cart body & put in on [laid??] of water banks over the swamp next to Anne's sow died last night Mr Hullett lost 2 of his daughters last night with measles - the other 1 week ago

Rain foggy & a very murky day I patched up my harness went to mill to get some S. Cantlin to mend my cart I went for a load of shucks dr. Anderson came by & pd me $126.62cts Franks here

Fair I went to Carmel - Bro harris preached we went to T. Castle in the evening met with Linnaeus & family at T Castle [Thomasia's younger brother Dr. Linnaeus Beorhave Anderson]

Rainy evening I went to Carmel Bro Harris preached he came to T Castle to dinner We came up this evening

Fair moderate weather I halled a log to themill for S Catlin for a cart body I spoke for a quarter of beef of Mrs. Gouldin at 5 1/2 cts hine qtr went to Mr Dukes pd for Nelson & Jeffs hire last year 32$50cts spoke to Mr White to clean my clock for 2$ - brought up planks & flour

Fair cold morning sent to mill for beef got a quarter of Mr Gouldin am to give 5 1/2 cts brought 2 S Cautlin from mill Mr Robert Wright came to clean my clock he cleaned the clock & musical box sawed a scythe charged 2$ 62 1/2 cts pd him $2.50cts Tom Swann came to bring a hen for Llewellyn he dined hear to day Llewellyn went with him home ewe had lam yesterday or today

Fair a cool day I went to the Depot for a bed & bed stid & clover seed & I paid Chandler $5.50cts for Casey for 2 stacks fodder met with man & Tom pd man $20 for manure bought last fall of J T Anderson [Verdon??] Bro Sam came for Harriet I lost about 9 dollars at depot sent over to the mill for meal

Fair a cool day cold morning I have been quite complaining most of the day Edmund T Redd dined hear to day [Edmund Taylor Redd, Jr, 1831-1884, nephew] I sowed some clover seed on the land that the guano was sowed

Fair quite a cold day I went to Chesterfield Depot to look for a bank note lost a day or two ago $9 herd nothing of it Saw Cobbs sow & pigs this evening has 10 pigs sowed some clover seed finished the guano lan[d]

Cdy a few flakes snow I went to the mill with 2 stacks halled 4 5o mill faned out & sent nearly 12 bushels wheat to mill - brought up a load of planks Katy laid up with coal [cold] halling logs to mill for Mr Hill 4 halled load planks for him
cutting burning brush etc. Paid Miss Harriet Ann Anderson [Thomasia's younger sister] $35.00 cts for bed & stid in full

Snowy day commenced this morning it fell about 2 or 3 inches deep rain a little this evening, lent Mr. Hill a passell fo tools to make ox cart body beeting out oats cut out 1/2 S ?? for William Martha & Bob 1/2 souled my shoes a dayh or two a go

Cdy nearly all day cool I sent for Dr. Anderson to see Thomasia she has a son the sixth child [James Temple Redd, Jr. 1849-1930 our great grandfather] The Dr. was from home sent for Linnaeus they both came I went for Mama
had 2 lambs to day put up prince etta [dog's name]  in barn

Snowed hailed & rained snowed in the night all melted I went to new grown [ground??] to look at my wheat
cutting wood shelling corn etc.

Rainy day fine rain mostly I commenced a boat nearly finished it halled a load or two of wood & load straw sent corn to mill shelfing etc. Bob made new hamper

W 28th

Rainy day fine rain north east win & has been for 3 or 4 days I finished my boat commenced cart body Thad caught a halk [hawk]
