Fair cool Dr Gouldin came over this morning Mr. Gouldin dined hear Llewellyn & I went to Carmel Bro Harris preached & a funeral sermon of Rafe

Fair cool day the ground had a crust on it this morning good many peaches killed sowing oats 7 1/2 bushels
set out onions planted peas 1 row finished the potatoes in the garden
raking in oats 7 1/2 bu working the garden etc

Fair, cdy to night a fine day planted a row of peas & beets shelling corn etc I went to the mill spoke to Mr. Gouldin for 2 bushels of oats at 35 cts a bushel John M Anderson [John McLaughlin Anderson, Thomasia's youngest brother, 1832-1881] spent the day hear
sowing oats sowed 5 bu - finished the fallowed lan ploughing the bottom 1/2 by Canfields ploughing in oats etc

Rain a little this evening quite warm day vegetation put out more to day than it has for several
I halled a log to mill for cartting brought back a load plank 12 - sent to mill for meal & 2 bu oats from Mr Gouldin sowed 1 1/2 bushels sowed timothy seed we dined at mamas quilting rakein & ploughing by Canfield's sowed crop seed sowed 1 1/2 bu black oats ploughing them in etc.

Fair mild I finished sowing oats to 1 bushel Mr Jefrey came to take the list of property. I put a roler on cart body & put it on the cart

Fair warm halled a load straw to stack planted a row of parsnips & carrots planted a few butter beans planted 2 rows corn in the garden & a box of wall flower seed -  I went to the mill sent for cart tung [tongue] & bag cotton I finished sowing timothy seed by Canfields
ploughing finished the lot ploughing the garden etc
weeding peach & apple trees Dab helping to plough Sent to T Castle for sugar Llewellyn went to T Castle

Rain to night & thunder - shower fair day I went to Chiles burgh & mustered the Candidates were there speaking I made a yoke cart tung
ploughing put manure in water melon patch grubing etc.

Rain to night fair day I went to Cty Line no preaching Ann & Molly came over Talley is at Mamma's & Emily thunder & lightnings

Rainy morning Bartlett worked for me to day in shop fixed cart tung irons for cart body dun [done] up plough rake etc etc Pd him 75cts & Jeff 12 1/2 I pd Flemming $2.75cts for 6 bridles William went to Mr. Gouldins for a bar iron Mr Talley's daughters went home this morning & Molly Bob ploughing for Mr Lane Peter & Joh malling rails to day I spoke to Fleming Henry for 10 hogsheads of manure

Fair, foggy morning I commenced planting corn by Annas fence. Billy Quarles came to get work, put in a stone corner fence by my orchard
planting corn throwing up manure by the kitchen etc

Fair a fine day Billy Quarles & I finished cart tung & went for some post for the barn put in2 post got 4 ready splicing joist etc planting corn in front of the house worked the young steers to day

Fair a pretty day working on barn sheds finished one side put in 3 poles on the other side planting corn commenced on the hill, corn by the house going toward the gate

Cdy evening a few drops rain I walked to the mill Billy finished the barn commenced on my barn sheds worked 1/2 day - I set a steel trap for a hare

Fair a very cool day north win Mama had William working the the shop for her - finished planting corn in this lot ploughing in orchard Bet mair has a coalt planting corn ?? planting peas

Fair very cold morning & night I saw ice 1/2 inch thick in a bucket and the tub of water froze this morning I went to Carmel Bro Crane spoke to Sunday school teachers & scollars Bro Harris preached Mark 14 chapter 8 verse [Mark 14:8] She hath done etc. Pd 2 dollars to Bro Hardgrove for Cobb

Fair a very cold morning - large frost all or nearly all the fruit & buds... the trees are killed Yoked up the young steers brought a load wood I went to the cool house with Lewis to see Mr. Noele halled a load wood planting corn by ice pond - ? in that field

Fair a large frost cold morning I saw ice on the Swamp ground frozen etc. I went to the new ground to look at wheat Lewis Redd [likely Addison Lewis Redd, 1804-1889 oldest son of Samuel Redd] borrowed my coat & went to Bro Allens - planting corn by the ice pond

Snow a little cold & windy day I finished planting corn by the ice pond Lewis brought my coat back this morning Mr. Gouldin came & spoke for 1/2 bu corn 1 bu Burress 1/2 bu Hills shell it

Fair cool day I went to the new ground Saw S Cobbs & nags spoke for 1/2 bu seed corn the fire got away at the school house and burnt to Sister Cobbs fence & M Lucks fence etc. Anna gave me some cabbage seeds Martha laid up
ploughing by Cobbs halled 2 or 3 loads straw to stack grubing etc

Fair cool morning a large frost. I halled 3 loads of stocks for Mr Hill & myself 6 in all Miss Fanny Noele came to see Thomasia I sowed the plant bed in the garden cabbage seed etc.

Fair cool the win go to the south to day I went to S Cobbs for 1/2 bu seed corn swaped went to mill this evening saw Martin I made a pen for turkey have 13 young ones Thadkilled 3 ? mockins [mocking] birds

Fair we went to Cty Line Bro Allen preached communion day Bro Saml John T Redd & Charles Gouldin dined hear to day

Fair a warm fine day We went to Mr Gouldins & spent the day I went to Linnaeus after coppers & paper I made a bargain with Mr. Gouldin for 20 barrells corn at $2.12 1/2 cts a barrell
ploughing by Cobbs grubing in the field on main road etc

Rain showery morning finished ploughing by Cobbs I mended irons on harness
planting corn by Cobbs - Hills corn from the gap to swamp & Cobbs corn on other side swamp - next to wheat patch

Rainy day Mama sent some hands to plant corn the rain drove them in I made Llewellyn gun of wood made a nuwell [newell] etc packed away some planks in the barn -- I pd Purkins 1 dollar money lent him

Rain fine, rain, cdy day I sent to mill for plaster got about 6 bushels. I sowed about 2 bushels plaster sowed some on wheat at new garden & the drilled wheat
sowed 1/2 bu on potatoe patch by corn house ploughed it & manured it grubing on the swamp cut a ditch etc I sowed a little plaster on clover & a little guano sent to mill for plaster ploughed the potatoe patch hall a load rails to the gate to [sun?] fence by my house

Rain showery halled rails from the fence by the orchard & making fence by the house from one gate to the other halling some wood diging hoalds [holes] for stakes putting them in etc Let Jon have 4 quarts of flour at 12 1/2 cts.

Sun 29th

Fair cool day we went to T Castle I carried Llewellyn to Carmel to Sundy scool came up home this evening
