Fair a large frost the ground had a crust on it I altered a bull & several hogs put up 8 hogs to fatten I halled up 2 loads of corn – sowed 2 1/2 bushels wheat rakeing it in cutting down corn shucking etc etc I killed 2 squirls shot at some ducks -

Fair cool day I saw ice this morning I halled a load corn sowed 1 bushel red shuck wheat – [smooth headed, late red wheat] rakeing ploughing put away my potatoes halled a load pine tags etc cutting down corn etc shucking I killed 4 birds 2 hairs

Fair a very cold morning ice 1/8 inch thick. I went hunting killed 3 birds 2 hairs I finished – halling up corn shucking etc ploughing I – sowed 1 1/2 bushels red shuck wheat rakeing it in shucking corn sent to mill etc etc etc

Cdy a little rain I went with Mama & Sister Swann to Carmel Bro Fox spoke sowing wheat 1 bushel ploughing rakeing etc dug beets picking cotton shucking corn etc etc finished sowing the corn field by Canfields sowed about 26 bushels in all up [hill?] today bushels wheat soad up to day

Rain till the evening commenced in the night a very heavy rain we went to Mama, this evening – Charles came over to let me know he started the turkeys

Fair a very large frost I went hunting saw 2 or 3 turkeys – halling wood & manure for wheat putting it in the drills, I pd Tate to day for his work in full of all demands Tate & Anderson dined hear to day

Fair cool day, I went to Golans Ville voted for A Taylor & Fillmore [Zachary Taylor for President' Millard Fillmore for Vice President] I put up my corn 17 1/2 bls of for my part of the corn made at the new grown Anna had 5 bls & ["1/2 and 1/2 bushel" lined through] - - - ploughing cow pens sowed 1 bushel wheat or nearly Matthews wheat ploughing it in etc etc

Fair, cold morning ground frozen finished putting up my stack put the cows in sowing wheat 1 bu finished the matthews wheat rakeing etc I faned out & sowed 2 1/2 bushels of the white bearded wheat for Mama killed 2 birds

Fair cool. Bob laid up to day. Robert rakeing for me – sowed 1 bushel red shuck & a little over by the out gate rakeing it in halled 3 loads of manure put it in the drills for wheat altered a hog etc

Cdy day very cool the ground had a crust on it most of the day I beet & siftered 1 bushel of Guanno Sowed most of it ploughed it in sent corn to mill halled a load wood Bob laid up Joh helped to plough I went – with Charles & Thad to lood[k] for the turkeys

Cdy cool I killed a lam to day Mr Hill pd me 20 dollars for bricks I sowed my mammoth wheat & ball head & drilled 18 rows mammouth – laying off rows to sow guanno getting wood sent to mill etc

Rain a little very cdy & damp day I have been beeting & siftering guano all day halled a load wood – Peter cut out Nelsons shoes

Cdy day siftering & beeting guano, carry a part to the mill & weighed it 2 barrells weighed 362 neat [net?] weight – halling manure to the wheat patch 4 or 5 loads Martha laid up for a day or two – Peter cut out Bobs Jeff, Martha, & Pleasants shoes shelling – corn to night etc

Fair mild halling manure to the wheat patch by Miss Betsys gate sent – corn to mill & a plough sent after a load wood to kill hogs by I sowed 3 bushels wheat for Mama

Foggy morning I sowed 360 lbs guano, & ploughed it in scattered manure etc grubing by Cobbs – rakeing leaves sent to the mill for a plough got – 2 double ploughs I went hunting killed 5 birds & 2 hairs

Cdy most of the day I went to look for my hogs at Mr Cobbs Edmond Redd came to bring my gun to hair hunt I sowed 1 bushel gully – wheat nearly 1 bushel Medertaranean wheat ploughing by Cobbs – Mr Martin & I went for a load shingles he halled 2 loads 900 in one & a 1000 in the other shelling corn

Snow commenced in the night it fel in places nearly 1/2 inch thick very cold most of the day Mr Martin & I went to Anna, for my tools made a chirn staff he borrowed my gun went to his fathers – cutting – halling wood rakeing & halling leaves I halled 6 horse cart loads

Fair a cool day I weighed my hogs & cut them out the first weighed 154. 2nd 130 3rd 118. 4th 124. 5th 117. 6th 116. 7th 69. 8th 69. 9th 69 10th 70 lbs – the ten weighed 1033 lbs – I went to a sale at Caseys. I bought a plough gave 3 dollars & a stack of shucks $3.05 cts – 6 months credit I killed 4 birds ploughing in the new ground by Cobbs – cutting brush to cover greens etc

Fair cool morning I faned out w 1/2 bushels wheat & sowed 2 bushels wheat to day ploughing it in rakeing grubing choping around the stumps etc I sowed 1 1/2 bushel wheat for Mama – I killed 3 birds gave them to Betty Redd I killed 56 birds this fall

Rainy day I went to the new ground sowed a litle wheat ploughing - & rakeing grubing etc – shelled a turn of corn halling wood a load straw etc etc Mr Green came to look at a cow – and dined hear – faned out some wheat 2 bushels – shingles

Joh helping to plough with Mama, mules commenced ploughing for corn in the evening at the new ground by Cobbs – grubing – choping around the stumps etc my sow & pigs came up this evening had a rase after a hare by Cobbs we went to T Castle I pd Dr 10$ for 10 bushels wheat - $00

Fair very cold morning I finished showing my – guano, & ploughed it in with 2 double ploughs, went to – Canfields to look at his corn he offers old corn for $2.00 a barrel halled 2 or 3 loads straw – choping around the stumps at new ground by Cobbs – etc faned out a turn of wheat for Mama, I cut out for Peter Katy, & Livvys, shoes & a pair 1/2 soles for self & Mariahs shoes for Jessey, -
