Fair cool day I went to Carmel Bro Harris & Wheeler spoke I pd J Luck $5.00 that he advanced for me I put down $5.00 on the little book working on the garden halled a load of poles to put on the top of stakes planted peas weeding the peas in garden

Rain a shower or two I went to Carmel Bro Harris preached Thomasia & I went to Mamas & suped with Bro Harris -

Barn

Fair ploughing or ploughed the garden for potatoes halling manure etc Mr Tate came to work on the barn we put up the rafters

Fair finished putting up the rafters on the Barn sheds commenced sheeting I went to S Gouldins to see Martin promised to come tomorrow putting manure in the garden in the drills etc halling etc Jack laid up planting potatoes in the garden 1 bu red planted

Fair mild sheeting. shingling the barn – Henry Martin helping to shingle - - - - - finished planting potatoes 2 bu ploughing or coltering the sweet potatoe patch

Fair a large frost – working on the barn shingleing 2 sides the end & side with Martin & Tate & Boy ploughed the sweet potatoe patch getting pea sticks putting falks in the garden for beans etc ploughed the pea patch by the barn ground peas

Fair mild a frosty morning nearly done shingling. Tate went home – to night finished sticking the Buter beens & halling manure to the pea patch ploughed it planted ground peas -

Fair a cdy evening thundered & lightened We went to Bro Saml stoped at Lins Mr Martin & I finished shingleing the barn to day about 12 ock halling – manure to the pea patch planted peas halled manure to corn field & peach ["patch" lined through] orchard put it around the trees

Rain a pretty shower We came home in the evening I went to Bever Dam Bro Phillips preached -

Rain showery. I finished setting out greens & stuck the peas & butter beens halled a lode of manure to the garden for tomatoes patch. halled 2 to the corn field commenced weeding corn by the shop or Anna, Jack came by Jef laid up caught a musk rat in fish trap

Rain a good one showery weeding corn Archy helping malling rails replanting – corn putting manure around the corn by the seder tree had my mare shod before Anna dined hear came over to quilt – set out tomatoes in the garden

Rainy day had a good rain malling rails halled a load of wood etc set out 30 tomatoe plants in the orchard & some – potatoe plants Irish -

Cdy day cool a north win I went to T. Castle for my cattle brought them home left the bull in the road I had my horse shod in frunt - - malling rails halling by Canfields to put on the fence replanting corn etc etc. . . planted 4 rows corn in the cotton patch. .

15th Sat

Fair cool Mama & Thomasia & self went to the Boling Green to muster & from there to Dr. Gouldins - & stayed till tuesday We came back home patched the fence by Canfie[ld] on the road reeplanting – corn etc

Fair I spent the day at Dr Gouldins We came out to old Mr Gouldins saw the river etc etc etc

Fair I spent the day at Dr Gs We went crow hunting killed 6 crows weeding corn etc

Fair cool We came home from Dr Gouldins & brought a dog Troubadore – weeding corn etc

Fair mild cool morning I shered my sheep 6 ewes & one ram rams wool weighed 5 1/2 lbs growse [gross] finished reeplanting corn weding etc wed some peach trees in the corners of the fence Dr Anderson came by this evening

20th Th

Fair mild I went to the mill carryed 2 hows to beet out Thomasia & I went to Mt Airy to the quilting brought 2 bushes & set it out Washington bower the name [i.e., jasmine] ploughing corn finished – ploughing the meadow weeding etc

Fair warm Thomasia – went to Mt Airy this morning & dined at Anna, - Betty gave me a shel - conk [conch] weeding corn by the sedar tree in the meadow - - - - - sent to mill for rafters & meal

22nd Sat

Rained a light shower – I made a horn out of a conk shel and handled a goard finished weeding – the meadow rakeing the fallowed land etc reeplanted peas etc gave the negroes holly day – wed corn cymblains etc set out some expecting rain

23rd Sun

Rainy day a very good rain Tom came & spent the day. . .

24th M

Fair warm day we went to Bro Sams Mr Gouldin was there – Bob ploughed the lot at the stack for potatoes Jessey commenced halling the logs for Marias house set out some tomatoe plants in the garden & planted some potatoe seed irish. . . . . .

25th Tus

Fair warm day I planted nearly 1 bushel of potatoes planted at the stack of shelter planted 1/2 bu in the corn field – by the shop weeding potatoes peas etc etc in the garden rakeing the corn – field - - . .

Rain this evening a hard shower I finished setting out greens set out the nursery with apple trees etc ree planted cotton commenced reeplanting corn again rakeing the corn – sent a load of ashes & plaster around the corn, watering the cymblings with cow manure Robert ploughing a potatoe patch on the meadow moved the cow pen etc

Cdy a few drops rain, cool patching up the pasture fences halled a load of rails reeplanting corn etc a dog caught one of my sheep a ewe badly hurt last night Robert rakeing potatoe patch in the meadow

28th Fr

Fair warm day reeplanting corn rakeing etc - - - planted 2 bushels potatoes in the meadow Llewellyn broke out with measles – S Gouldin dined hear to day

Fair warm day put on summer pants planted peas & ree planted the patch planted water mellon seed in cotton patch finished rakeing the corn coaltering the garden on greens weeding the greens shot at a dog put tar on the sheep that the dog bit. [tar helped with healing and kept flies off] Jef went after the Dr to see Llewellyn

30th Sun

Fair warm spent the day at home. Dr Anderson came up to see Llewellyn & staid 2 or 3 Hours – H by the barn

Rain light one coaltered the potatoes etc in the new garden weeding the greens ploughing the corn by – the barn throwing the dirt from the corn & throwing it back again Annas cow had a calf (to day)
