Fair most of the day, a shower or two about Carmel – we went to T. Castle I went to Carmel Bro Harris preached we came up home this evening Linnaeus dined at T Castle Miss B Hill & Mr Temple came in the evening making some beds by the Barn for sweet potatoes halled up my rye & put it under the shelter |

Fair cool morning warm day I went to T Castle & to Mrs Butlers to have a coat made Tom brought the cloth from Richmond. thined over my cotton ploughed the potatoe patch in the garden weeding them etc ploughing corn by smiths shop |

Fair scalled [scalded? cleaned floors with scalding water?] the house to day I sowed some turnip seed in the garden red top, ploughing the corn by the barn weeding potatoes by the house or in the garden sent to mill for meal sent wheat to mill |

Fair warm I went to Mr Keans had a promise of some money Received 39$ of Bro Sam my part of the carrage money ploughing corn by the barn finished weeding the potatoes in the garden weeding in the new garden butter beens etc sowed some turnip seed in the garden |

Fair warm we went to Mama, & dined I rode to the mill sent for the flour weeding corn by the old ice pond Bob & john ploughing the corn I made a duck pen got a plough from shop point beet out & strap. |

Rainy day a very heavy one it comenced last night – halled 2 loads rails for cow pen moved the cow pen & coaltering it commenced – set out some potatoes by the barn & in corn field set out a few apple trees in the orchard |

Rain a hard rain the lightning struck a locust tree close to the house a considerable shock to us all = = ploughed a turnip patch & sowed it with 3 or 4 kinds cutting oats setting out potatoes Irish in the garden |

Rain in the evening a good one Mr Kean came & stayed all night pd me 60$. gave his bond for 25$ - ploughing corn hilling potatoes halled up 2 loads of oats went to mill carryed a cow brought up a load of slabs etc |

Fair cool I sowed 1 peck of buck wheat & fallowed the ballance of the ground etc weeding corn finished halling the oats this evening & stacked them under the shed sent to mill for meal & 1 bushel of wheat ground into flour got it of Mr Gouldin Winston bought a calf to day of me at 4$ I mended Miss B Hills brace to day |

Cdy most of the day Mr Harris got out Mama, wheat carryed the mashine to my barn & planted it my hands helped about Mama, wheat. sent to T Castle to try to get some hands Dr Gouldin & family came to Mama, to day he lost Franssis about one weack ago |
