Rain a good rai it rained most of the day Dr Gouldin came over this evening -

Fair I went to the protracted meeting at Carmel Bro Shaver preached & Frasher & Powel preached I have some watermellons ripe halled some manure to the cow pen commenced ploughing it etc choping corn weeding etc

3rd Tus

Cdy, Rain a small shower – We went to Carmel Bro Herndon Powel & Harris preached finished sowing buck wheat ploughed the corn by the wheat patch ploughing peas potatoes etc sent 2 ploughs to mill choping the corn etc

Cdy cool I went to Carmel Bro Taylor preached Text Malachi 3 ct 14 verse – Mr Page preached in the morning they had a singing this evening at Carmel – weeding corn

Fair cool. We went to Mt Airy this evening – to see Mr & Mrs Page H A is to spend the night. finished ploughing the garden. malling rails weeding corn etc. . etc

Rainy morning comenced in the night a very heavy rain indeed - - - - shelling corn faned out some wheat patching up the – new garden halled a load of rails & put them on the fence malling rails. . . . . . . . . . . - - -

Cdy Rain a little this morning I sent to the Depot for flour meet shoes etc [Sunday shoes?] malling rails grubing making cow pen etc I went to the mill started corn mill sent to mill for meal

Rain a good one we went to Mt Airy to meeting Mr Page preached Text Peter Vth ct 7 verse

Rain a very pretty shower this evening, halled rails finished cow pen fencing my watermellon patch - - - . cutting & malling rails – grubing & thining corn by the barn (Rose went to H C) handled an ax

A Shower, warm day we went to Mama, & dined commenced fallowing by the house for wheat sent to mill for meal & slabs grubing cutting rail timber halling rails etc . . .

Fair most of the day a [shower?] passing about I went to the Depot for coat. fallowing raked & ploughed the turnip patch & sowed it weeding a turnip patch

Rain a very hard one this evening. faning out wheat faned 28 1/2 bushels fallowing cutting apple trees etc weeding turnips etc etc I have a plenty watermellons now

Rain a pretty shower cutting & halling apple trees weeding turnips etc ploughing malling rails this evening Ben came by to night to spen the night

Fair warm I went to the Depot fopr my coat pd Allin 20 1/4$ for it & $1.75 cts for a pair shoes – malling rails cutting rail timber etc weeding turnips etc. . . Dr Gouldin came up for Louisa

Fair warm day Mary Minor & Miss H Anderson Lewis went to Carmel Bro Anderson red a chapter & prayed etc

Fair very warm day I went to T Castle for the Dr to see Thomasia She has been sick for several days cutting rail timber & malling rails weeding turnips topped my cotton to day Dr A came to see Thomasia

Cdy Rain last night I went to T Castle for quinine for Thomasia halling rails laid the worm by the orchard apple – malling rails grubing etc

Rain a good one Mrs Gouldin & I went to Bro Sam, very little rain there saw Lin at Bro Sams malling rails halling. fencing sent to mill etc etc Cherry went to H. C to day

Fair cool morning fallowing by the house halling rails fencing the orchard in finished the fence all to stakeing grubing

Fair cool morning I carryed my gate & hung it – fallowing grubing halling rails etc weeding potatoes in the corn field & apple – trees I Pd – Sally Lord 4 cts pr yard for 36 1/2 yds cloth & 5 cts for 18 3/4 yds

Rain showery grubing – commenced digning Irish potatoes in the new garden dug 18 bushels very fine ones. fallowing sent 2 ploughs to mill pulled 5 fine watermellons to day a meeting commenced at Cty Line to day protracted

Rain a very hard one we went to Cty Line Bro Littleberry Allen preached [Littleberry Woodson Allen, 1803 – 1871] the meeting is to continue for some days. . [ledger entry: Jas T Redd Dr to Mama To 1/2 bl corn 23rd September.]

Rain a little I went to Cty Line Bro Allen preached - - Text James 5th Ct last verse commenced grubing in field by Canfields for corn cutting hay etc fallowing. .

Fair Thomasia & I went to Cty Line Bro Allen preached 2 professed conversion a sone of Bro Phillips & Marshy Anderson cutting by the garden dug the onions out some grass in the garden I sent to the Depot a box butter eggs etc

Fair I went to Cty Line Bro Phillips & Allen preached – a Mr Thacker professed convertion to day opening & turning [turning?] hay etc Negroes most of them went to meeting

27th Fr

Fair I went to Cty Line Bro Allen & Phillips Pharish fallowing by the citchen & garden grubing John & Jef went to meeting.

Rain a very heavy one we went to Cty Line Bro Allen preached text Romans 8th ct 32nd verse 6 or 7 persons talked to the church 2 Thackers a Goodler Luck Mr Anderson or Sister Anderson daughter. .

Fair pretty day we went to Cty Line Bro Allen preached. Text Matthew 28th ct – first part of 7 verse. Bro – Gaslick preached in the evening the meeting broke to day. Ann Emily & William were at meeting

Fair mild weather I went around to notify the hands to work on the road to morrow fallowing halled 2 loads manure to the orchard & put the manure around the trees halled up my hay to day

Fair warm day I worked on the main road had a double plough from Mt Airy halled a load of – slabs for 2 bridges on the road. We dot is sight of the mill. Ct Tiler & the Dr his sone came by this evening spent the evening Canfield was missing
