Fair warm day George is plastering etc halling up corn cutting down etc commenced sowing rye sowed 2 bushels rakeing them in etc sent Ben to T Castle for 2 bushels rye I killed a squirl

2 rye

Cdy most of the day I went to Bro Saml, for sley etc sowed 2 bushels rye got it of the Dr. raked it in etc ploughing cutting down corn shucking etc

3rd Sat

Fair I went by Wares & to Chiles burg to muster – Ware pd me 50 cts for potatoes I pd him 50 cts for coat mending ploughing halling up corn etc We went to T Castle

4th Sun

A small shower in the morning cdy day etc we came up home

Fair warm I commenced sowing wheat by Canfields sowed 4 bu and a peck of the Wickham wheat – [ther was a Wickham family in Hanover County] shingling the house etc rakeing the wheat in cutting down corn by the corn house shucking etc I got 2 years corn of Canfield Meriland [Maryland?] [turn?] corn

Fair warm I sowed 4 bu bushels forward wheat – comencing by the log piles etc on this way cutting down corn patching the house etc

3 wheat

Fair warm day sowed 3 bushels of wheat – Lewis came over to hunt etc we went to T Castle to see H A Anderson she is very sick cutting down corn rakeing in wheat etc

1 bu wheat

Fair warm day sowed nearly 1/2 bu wheat & finished all of the fallowed land that was ploughed ploughing rakeing etc cutting down & picking up corn shucking etc – I came from T Castle & went back

9th Fr

Fair warm day I went to Wairs carryed my coat Pd him 50 cts for mending came up from T. Castle. killed a bird caught a hair etc went back to T C. ploughing by the stack cutting down corn halling up etc shucking at night

10th Sat

Fair I came from T C. halling up corn seting it up etc Cobbs kind of corn diging sweet potatoes etc

11th Sun

Fair cool I went to Carmel Bro Estes preached Text Phili[[ians 1st Ct 6 verse went back to T Castle

Rain a good one rain most of the night last Dr Anderson went over to be married to Ella McGhee this evening dug 1 1/2 bushels potatoes – shucking corn Dr was married by Mr Bowers

Cdy a few drops rain etc I went hunting shot at 2 turkeys Tom killed a duck ]and?] walked to T Castle Llewellyn & self fallowing by Dabs halled load corn shucking corn etc. . .

Fair cool I went to T Castle carryed Mary & Letter – finished fallowing for wheat & sowed 2 bushels wheat sowed 13 bushels wheat on the fallowed land in all. gathering apples etc shelling corn etc

Fair I went to T.C. carry butter milk Harriet Ann ploughing by the corn house rakeing etc. . diging potatoes 4 bu dug 3 1/2 were Rohans – from the barn

Fair very warm day I went hunting killed 3 squirls went back to T. Castle – finished diging potatoes dug 12 bushels potatoes ploughing rakeing sent to mill for meal etc

Rained a little very cold wind I went to Carmel Bro Harris preached text Luke 13th ct 6-7-8 & 9 vers Bro Saml dined at T. Castle & W Terrell Molly etc etc

Clear frost not a cloud to be seen scarcely I commenced sowing the Mediterranean wheat in potatoe patch sow 3 pecks rakeing ploughing etc picked over my potatoes

Fair a very large frost I came up from T. Castle sowed 2 bushels wheat raking it in cutting down corn – killed a lamb this morning I went to the Depot for my papers

Fair a large frost sowed 2 bushels medt wheat making 4 bu & 3 pecks sent Ben to L Cobbbs for 1 bushel rye sowed 1/2 bu rye & finished the fallowed lan cutting down corn etc Barbara is at T. Castle

22nd Th

Fair frost came up home from T Castle – finished the rye by Canfields commenced ploughing by the tobacco beds for wheat & by the ice pond for rye. . . cutting down corn grubing

23rd Fr

Fair frost Thomasia & Tom came up in the evening I went down with them sowed a little rye by the ice pond ploughing for wheat grubing picking up corn cukcing [shucking?] etc-

24th Sat
5 bu – Rye

Fair sowed 1/2 bu wheat by the tobacco bed ploughing it in finished sowing rye grubing etc set an owl trap went to T. Castle sowed 5 bushels rye in all got 2 bushels of Canfield 2 bushels of Dr. Andersons and 1 bushel of Listern Cobbs -

25th Sun

Fair spent the day at T. C. Mrs Brown came & spent the night. Miss B Hill & Mr S. came

Fair. frost. I came up home Tom brought up Thomasia & children Finished sowing wheat sowed 1 bu and 1 peck – 19 bushels in all sowed 533 grains gully wheat – found in the gulley from the the produck of one grain -

27th Tus

Fair I faned out 33 bu wheat & sent it to the Depot it holds out 1770 lbs grubing in wheat patch etc We went back to T. Castle 2 cows ran off today

28th W

Fair cool north win I came up home went to Chiles Burg Jas Gatewood pd me 8 dollars looking for cows etc cutting down & picking up corn puled up my beets made 44 bu sugar beets & dug my peas 1/2 bushel

29th Th

Fair a large frost the ground frozen cutting down corn halling up etc I killed 2 hares brought my sow back

Fair mild Linnaeus came up with his dogs to hunt caught 1 hair – putting some corn 22 bls halling etc got a lode of pine leaves

Rainy evening I went to Carmel Bro Fox spoke I killed a small beef – halling up corn etc
