Showery I went to Carmel Bro Fox spoke went to T Castle in the evening – halling out manure from the manure pen by the kitchen on the garden for greens 16/ finished fencing in the garden. ploughed a squair in the garden & planted peas corn ield -

Fair we went to Carmel Bro Harris was a meeting Frank Scott preached Text 3rd ct John 16 verse came up home Jessey ows 12 1/2 cts for leather

Fair ploughing for corn scattering manure etc I went to Sistern Cobbs to get 1 bu corn for seed halling manure 3 loads halling to the garden & watermellon patch sent my tobacco to Mr Gouldins 58 lbs good & 85 lugs

Fair warm planted watermellon seed red ones, made hills for tomatoes manured them etc brought 10 jugs & 5 bottles from the shop -. planted corn by ice pond ploughing – made a crow bline Hackett

Rain commenced at night Mrs Swann dined hear planted Marteno [Martino Roma tomatoes] seed – ploughing fallowing for corn – halling the houses & leaves off the land took out bee hive out house killed a crow -

Rainy a hard rain – finished cleaning on the hill the manure shelters etc fallowing halled 10 loads manure set out some tomatoe plants got 23 lbs fodder of Mama – lent

Rainy day the heavyest Rain we have had for a long time – finished ploughing for corn halling manure to the garden 5 loads shelling corn pulling weeds out potatoes got 50 bundles fodder 23 bu

Rain or showery now poring down to night I went to the mill had horses shod a large fresh - - [swollen stream] halled 3 loads rails for the pen by the out gate malling rails etc etc Rain poring down swamps floteing

Rain hard showers I rode to the river very full -

Fair cool windy etc fencing on the pasture fence malling rails pd Winston, shop account of - - Mr Kean came by I owe W Swann $2.60 cts - -

Fair ree planted corn planted Irish potatoes 1/2 bushel & a little over – ploughing for potatoes halled 2 loads leaves to cover potatoes Mama Sister Sarah & Anna spent day quilting

Fair Planting potatoes 4 bushels red & 3 pecks Rohan potatoes etc Bob helped plant them Lewis came over to crow hunt Linnaeus came for 10 bu potatoes -

Fair warm planting potatoes 1 bushel & a peck making 6 bushels – rakeing corn beds ploughed garden & rake in halling manure to garden 3 loads Bed went to S Cobbs for 1 bu corn for seed pd. 75 cts for it – Covering potatoes working the garden Thomasia went to Mrs Swanns

Rainy evening a heavy Rain planting corn nearly all the listed land Mama had a 1/2 bu potatoes picking them over got 22 lbs fodder of Hackett – Peter had 2 patterns leather

Rain a hard shower I went to the B Green to muster carryed Thad creeks are very full - - got 2 deeds covering irish potatoes with pine leaves halled 3 loads leaves. etc

17th Sun

Rain we went to T Castle I went to Carmel Bro Fox preached – we came up home

Fair very warm I sent Bob to T. Castle for greens set them out on new garden halling rails working the garden beets unions potatoes etc etc planted peas etc in new garden – sent W. Swann 5 bu potatoes

Fair cool north wind planted pumpkins & cymblings seed guinea corn [sorghum] in the garden set 1 do tomatoe plants & a few greens Jack came for some tobacco plants choping the corn bushes etc etc

Fair listing for corn finished planting sweet potatoes hilling etc wed over the irish potatoes in garden John Dickinson got some Tar Ann came over to Mamas,

Fair finished planting corn & peas ploughing for potatoes etc I went to Hanover for straw berries carryed Mr Lane some peas

Fair wed the cotton putting manure in potatoe patch cutting clover I planted water mellon seed & cymblings in the corn field Hackett & I went Hanover crow hunting in hanover killed 1 crow got some straw berries

Fair we went to Bro Saml, in the evening planted potatoes 1 1/2 bu red potatoes halled 2 loads manure from the woods hogs got in corn field & ruted it up reeplanting etc halled 2 loads manure to potatoe patch

Fair very warm day we came home this evening. . .

Fair very warm day planting mercer potatoes – 1 bushel – halled 5 loads manure reeplanting corn the last corn planted is up 1 in high

Fair very warm day planted 1 bushel potatoes comenced weeding corn on the swamp – planted broom corn seed [sorghum used for making brooms] wed 2 rows beets sugar B. sent a plough & cultivater to shop planted grown peas

Fair a fine rain last night sent to T Castle for collard plants sent the Dr some peas large set out greens & tomatoe plants weeding corn new ground -

Cdy most of the day Mrs McLaughlin Mama Ella Linnaeus & wife etc dined here to day – weeding corn etc

Rainy evening weeding corn set out some cymblains fencing etc shelling corn

Cdy thining corn halling rails fencing etc we went to T Castle in the evening
