Fair finished putting in the post of the barn sheds raming them in etc commenced rakeing the fallowed land cutting down corn halling etc cutting poles for the corn house gathering peas etc Winston got some fellow timber of me

Fair finished raming the post of the barn sheds commenced on the corn house raised it 6 or 7 logs coppled the rafters etc rakeing halling corn shucking etc

Fair finished covering the corn house planked up the ends comenced jointing shingles halled 3 lodes shingles finished rakeing over the fallowed land laying it of to sow by pulling of corn etc etc shucking etc

4th Sat

Cdy a litle rain I went to Chiles Burg to muster Elected W Swann for a Captain mustered. received 15 $ of E Swann for Bro Saml W Swann came over this evening to try to borrow a horse & gig. finished halling shingles shucking corn sent to mill for meal etc etc finished the corn house all to swinging the doar jointing shingles etc

Rain last night & this morning We went to Carmel Bro Harris preached Text Revelations 3rd ct 16 verse - - -

Fair a good rain last night Vinkner & I made a rake to day he went home got [npas?] tobacco scaffold to day halling up corn etc diging potatoes sowing wheat rakeing etc sowed 1/2 bu

3 B 1 B [appears above entry for 10 October] Cdy day foggy morning I went to the mill carryed a rake & a bar of iron for teeth got 4 planks for a boat sent a turn of new corn to the mill sowing wheat 2 bushels suckering tobacco diging Irish potatoes etc etc

Rainy day I made a boat to day shelling peas etc

Fair after the morning I went to Carmel to the prayer meeting.

Fair a frost I finished the boat all to putting on the chain halling up corn Harris is sick sent a bag of cotton to Terrells mill I killed a squirl

Fair a frost I cut tobacco to day cutting down corn etc ploughed in a little wheat finished the boat & carryed it to the river went hunting killed 3 partridges & a squirl Tobacco

Fair winday & cold finished cutting my tobacco ploughing in front of the house halling up corn gathering peas etc Katy laid up to day shelling corn etc

Fair very cool night & morning frost I went to the mill for meal an a rake carryed a axle tree f[to?] have 2 boards put on I killed a patridge carryed corn to mill diging potatoes put away 3 lodes of pumkins ploughing shucking corn etc

1 bird Fair a killing frost rakeing with the new rake in front of the house prepairing to sow wheat finished halling the corn in lot by the house I had a corn shucking shucked all of these that is up etc Hacket & I went hunting ober the river killed 3 hairs & 2 birds.

18th Sat

Fair a pretty day finished takeing up my corn & putting away the shucks put 1/2 lode of corn in the corn house I killed a hawk.

19th Sun

Fair We went to T. C & to meeting & from Carmel to Mr Quarles f[or] Mrs Sutton funeral who died the night before & by T Cast home Bro Harris preached. N Luck had a fall off his horse

Fair mild finished picking peas black peas sowing wheat on the swamp & the tobacco ground 2 bu ploughing it in etc diging potatoes Mercers shelling corn to night

Fair a drop or 2 of rain this morning sowing wheat 1 bu sowed the pea & fallow rakeing etc faned out 2 1/2 bushels of red shuck diging the potatoes by the barn dug 30 bushels and 3 pecks of the Rohan [A Rohan potato was exceptionally productive but coarse grained and good for animal feed] sent corn to the mill got a plough

Fair cold a frost the ground frozen finished diging the patch by the barn dug 18 bu to day sowed 1 bu of wheat halled out manure etc I made a bridge to day 3 B: 1 turk I sent to mill for meal got the axle tree We dined at Anna,

Fair finished the fallow land sowing sowed 16 bu in all on the fallow & one lacking 1 inch on the potatoe patch. finished diging the Mercer potatoes halled a lode of corn from the new ground shucked it etc Thomasia went to Mr Gouldins I went over to spend the night a large frost

Fair mild day sowed wheat in front of the house 2 bushels halling corn 3 loads Hackett & I went after the turkey killed one apiece

Fair I put up 4 lodes of corn & a half all out of pen halling up corn 4 lodes ploughing at the end of the house sent a turn of corn to the mill I killed 5 birds this evening

2 B 5 B Fair mild halling up corn Mr Gouldin had 3 bu of wheat I faned out 6 bu Sowed 1 1/2 bu end of the house ploughing up the potatoe patch killed 2 birds

Fair warm I went hunting killed 5 Birds & a hair on Swanns & old W, w halling corn cutting down etc Sowing wheat 1 bu by the gate & in the sweet potatoe patch back of the garden

Fair warm William came up to plough at the new ground finished sowing about the house. opened the water furrows etc halling up corn etc Sowed about 7 bushels of forward wheat or 6 3/4 of a bushels

Fair mild. Hackett has my gun to try it. Finished faning out my white wheat once through halling corn 2 or 3 lodes ploughing Harris is lade up
