Fair & mild I finished setting out my apple trees this evening set 62 in all I went to Carmel Bro H preached Revelations 2nd last part of the 10th verse Anna runing her fence across the road halling straw fodder & wood etc

Fair & mild very windy evening I went to Carmel Bro Harris preached text Ephesians 4 ct 1 verse - - Edmond C Taylor & Mary L Taylor dined hear to day

Fair mild winday etc sent corn to the mill for chop got 10 lbs. of cotton from the mill Sowing oats sowed 6 bushels from the cherry tree down towards Canfields oats oats oats etc etc etd pd Sarah T Redd 109.$ in part for land tomatoes up in the box.

Showery day sowed 2 1/2 bu oats finished on the right side of the road as you go to Canfields. halling wood this evening working on the shop half of the day Mr Martin handling a plough for Ma

Rainy morning fair the balance of the day very winday had a chil halled a stack of hay in the barn to get the seed halling slabs wood etc etc grybing etc

Fair & fine day I had the beef killed rakeing oats I carryed a stock to mill sowed 2 1/2 bls of oats ploughing with the mule cocklering my wheat etc Anna & sister came over this evening Mr Martin worked on the shop made a doar & a window

Fair & warm finished sowing clover seed Mr Terrell dined hear. he had 1 bu of potatoes Mr Martin & I put up the rafters commenced slabing it over sent to the mill after laths sowing oats 3 bu rakeing etc

Fair. & a very warm day Finished covering the shop halled the balance of the slabs sent Miss B Hill a hine quarter of beef it weighed 83 1/2 lbs at 5 cts sent Mama one weighed 77 lbs cut out my beef sowing oats 3 bu by Canfields sent a clevvy to the mill twice to be mended [clevy is a piece of metal bent in the shape of an oxbow, the two ends perforated to receive a pin – used on the end of the tongue of a plow to attach it to a draft chain] I have peas up & tomatoes

Cdy cool evening I went to Bever Dam to meeting Bro Harris preached Text John 3 ct part of the 11 ver We speek that we do know etc went to Bro Saml & dined got a book for Llewellyn - - Molly & Betty came over to Mama, to go to school A temperance sermond

Rainy day finished beeting out the hay seed halled a lode or 2 of wood diping candles 200 to day

Fair cool day sent Bob to the Depot for a 1/2 tun of plaster carryed it to T. Castle to be ground halled a lode of straw & fodder stuck the butter beens to day mended up the little cart sent corn to mill

Fair fencing by the shop Anna, I went to W Harris, for timber got 5 trees 3 oaks for spokes 2 hickeries for axel trees. sowed 1 bu of oats rakeing the oats by Canfield patched up the pin at the stack

Cdy sowing oats sowed 3 bushels rakeing I sowed a bag of herds grass seed by Canfields in the corner on the road cockleing the wheat lost a large steel trap [Herd's grass is timothy grass, good for horse feed]

14th Fr

Rainy morning halling wood feed etc cockleing the wheat I carryed llewellyn to T. Castle this evening got my paper from T. C.

15th Sat

Fair halling wood sent to T Castle for my plaster got it home 12 or 14 bushels malling rails to make a fence around stable etc I planted some apple & peach seed cockleing my wheat had Tom shoes nailed on & pointed.

Fair and cool day we went to T Castle & I went to Carmel Bro Harris preached Text John 5th Ct 28 & 29 verses Bro Saml & man dined at T. C. Trainham married to Miss M England

Fair very winday, a flake or 2 of snow this morning sowing oats sowed 3 bu rakeing a little went to mill for meal Bro Saml came up to Mama this evening

Fair & cool. Dr M Anderson & Tom dined hear to day went back to T Castle sowed 7 bushels of oats. rakeing them in ploughing in the peach orchard burning brush halled a lode of wood etc etc etc 34 bu of oats sowed in all

Fair & very col windy rakeing finished the peach orchard sowed 3 bu of oats commenced fallowing for oats by walnut tree halled 2 lodes of wood burning brush etc

21st Fr

Fair a cool day I carryed my rake to Canfields to be mended got my double plough from the mill pd Jessey for shoes Fallowing

22nd Sat

Fair cool We went to T. Castle in the evening had my cart tire cut & rake mended finished about 1 ock finished fallowing commenced ploughing the cotton patch I pd Milly $1.00 the balance dew her

23rd Sun

Cdy very windy evening I spent the day at T. C.

Fair I went to Thackers to se a mule we came up home Mr Noel & M Anderson & Tom are at T Castle

Fair milder to day sowing oats on the fallow land sowed 10 1/2 bushels fallowing back of the grave yard for oats – I caught a mink burning brush

Plaster Sowed Fair mild sowed about 2 bushels of plaster on my wheat. sowed 4 1/2 bushels of oats & finished sowing sowed a bag of hirds grass seed next to the black bottom I offered John Dickinson [40?] $ for Fitzhugh house & 5 or 6 acres of land Tom dined hear went home a night grubing by Cobbs. {I have sowed 52 ["bu" lined out] bushels of oats in all & finished to day

27th Thu

Corn Fair & mild Commenced planting corn by Anna, fence Turners corn rolled it in plaster & ashes finished rakeing in oats opened some water furrows in the out patch etc sent corn to the mill

Fair warm I sowed a bag of plaster – planting corn I cut Mr Terrells hair in barn saw N Luck rented some out land of him for the 4th part of the crop he brought his sow to the Boar

Fair warn[m] sowed a bag plaster finished the wheat down by Canfields. planting corn finished up to the barn halled a load of fodder I gave in a list of my property to day

Fair warm day I went to Cty Line Bro Lewis preached Bro harris preached in the evening

Rain a little this evening finished planting corn about the house I planted 3 rows in the 2.3 & 4 rows from the apple trees nearest the gate in corn that was not prepared. the corner from the apple tree to the fence was planted in corn not soked sent 2 ploughs to mill pointed them etc
