Oats

Fair most of the day a few drops of rain ploughing corn weeding potatoes in the new ground sent 2 ploughs to the mill commenced cutting oats to feed with 3

Fair I pd E Terrell 12 $ for an ox went to T Castle Negro had his hand cut off at C field by [machete? machine?] Korb shingleing the house at T. Castle. finished ploughing the corn by the house ploughing by Cobbs etc weeding Irish potatoes peas black etc

3rd Th

Rain a little this evening Dr Anderson came by got a snack & went on to Bro Harris finished weeding Irish potatoes weeding corn tomatoes etc ploughing by Cobbs.

4th Fr

Fair very cool morning had a fire to warm by finished ploughing the corn weeding corn pumpkins peas cotton trees etc etc ploughing the pumpkins peas cotton potatoes etc etc etc Ann & Emily Talley came over

5th Sat

Fair cool morning. I went to Carmel Bro Fox spoke finished ploughing my patches weeding cotton sweet potatoes etc etc etc W. S. Talley came over this evening to Mama,

Calf

Fair warm we went to T Castle & spent the day I went to Carmel Bro Davist a Welsh-man preached Text Mark 1st ct 15th verse Miss Ella is a T Castle. Pink had her 2 calf this evening after sun set a cow calf.

Fair warm day. Thomasia went to Cty Line had 3 preachers finished weeding the cotton weeding the corn & reeplanting the same Cutting oats to day

8th Tus

Rain commenced late in the evening still raining I went to W Terrells to get some planks cutting oats weeding corn sent to mill got a 1/2 bl meal very warm day

9th W

Fair very warm day child of Peters did last night ploughed two turnip patches sowed one cutting oats halled 2 lodes of manure to sheep pen for turnips etc weeding corn carryed my cart to Canfields to have the tire cut

10th Th

Fair very warm I went to Canfields to help to cut and put on my cart tire – Harris to help him Mr Korb came over dined hear weeding corn by Cobbs cutting oats etc Mama went to Dr Gouldins

Fair very warm day cutting oats weeding corn etc etc Mike is gored by a cow

Fair warm Mr & Mrs Dandridge came up this morning I went to W Terrells for 100 feet of plan[k] gave 1 1/2 $ for it. cutting oats brought over a lode of things from the shop took out the bench and vice cleaned out the barn etc Lewis Hill came over this eve

Fair very warm Mr & Mrs Dandridge went home this evening or to T. C. Mrs Terrell came by this evening sent to Richmond for some things salt lime molaces grass blade etc etc

Rain a little this evening Mr Korb commenced the fan about 11 ock. Minor commenced cutting oats. cutting oats Henry helped a little John M L Anderson dined hear & E. Talley

15th Tus

Fair very warm last night was an uncommon warm night cutting oats weeding tobacco this morning I went to T C Mr Buttlers to have a coat made I went to Bro Saml & Mr Korb to look at his fan Od Mrs Vaugh 1.00$ for weeving cloth

A few drops of rain commenced cutting oats at N Lucks I went to the mill to have the irons made for the wheat fan framed the fan plaining up the plank etc

Fair very warm day Finished cutting oats at N Lucks commenced stacking at the barn working on the faneto

18th Fr

A few drops of rain in the evening put up 2 stacks of oats halling away the dirt from the barn etc I went to mill for axle cut W Terrells hare

19th Sat

Rain commenced to night a small shower a fair day I went to Bro Wm Gatewoods for money Dr A came to see Thomasia finished the oats in my field put up one stack brought the oats from the new ground one lode

20th Sun

Fair very warm I went to Carmel Bro Harris Pre Text Jeramiah 2nd ct part of the 13th verse first part

Fair very warm day Dr Anderson came by I went to N Lucks for my oats got 4 lodes of oats put up 5 lodes in the barn – sent N Luck my 1/2 bu I Dickinson got my grass blade I made a box for the cutting knife

22nd Tus

Fair very warm & winday a drying day - - finished cleaning out my wheat yard weeding tobacco I went to mill to have some irons made

23rd W

Fair a little cool wind in the evening I went to the mill 2 to day carryed a lathe wheel to turn the fan axle cutting hay wed over the garden scattering the dirt by the meadow etc sent for meal

24th Th

Fair & cool I went to the mill for the fan irons got a part of them turned two nobs etc working on the fan. . . cutting hay finished scattering the dirt grubing etc

25th Fr

Fair day commenced raining at night finished cutting hay on the rode & stacked it 2 stacks choping corn by Cobs I went to mill for a iron Winston charged $4.00 for fan irons.

A small shower of rain Mr Korb finished the fan to day I pd him 10.$ for making it Mike died to day cutting hay finished weeding the corn, etc etc We went to T. Castle Mr & Mrs Chenery came up to Mama,

27th Sun

A few drops of rain I carryed H A Anderson to Cty Line Bro Powel preached Text Isaaiah 3 ct q0 & 11 vers We came up home in the evening

Fair I went to the mill with Mr Chenery they went home this evening finished cutting hay grubing sent a how [hoe] to mill to be beet out

29th Tus

Fair I went to the Bever Dam Depot got 2 pair shoes one for Thomasia & self spent 37 cts put up a stack of hay the last ploughing tobacco grubing

30th W

Rain a tolerable good one I rode to Digarnette, to day to look for corn dined at Mama, I cut down a seeder tree & 2 cherry trees grubing weding tobacco etc etc

Fair a litle cool Bro Saml Dined hear to day & John & William Terrell I sowed a turnip patch commenced fallowing for wheat – halling rails for stack frame grubing etc Dr Anderson came to see Thomasia
