1 st Sun

Cdy most of the day I went to Carmel Bro Harris preached Text Matthew 5 th Ct part of the 14 th verse and the 16 verse We came home in the evening George came home to day

Fair very warm d working on Mikes cart handled 2 knives for Harris pulling fodder put up one stack of blades etc

3 rd Tus

Fair a drop or two of rain in the morning fixed a tobacco scaffold this morning by the barn pulling fodder I fixed up my cart body to hold corn. {I killed a halk took all my tools out of the black smiths shop

Fair I went to Dejarnattes with Llewellyn for 5 bls corn pulling fodder etc I went with Tom to the mill to see Tyree

5 th Th

Fair put up a stack of blade fodder pulling fodder finished on the left side of the parth cut 23 sticks of tobacco 8 plants on a stick cut 23 sticks of of tobacco

6 th Fr

Fair put up 1 stack fodder sent Billy to the mill to move rocks out of the river pulling fodder killed 5 birds etc

7 th Sat

Fair we went to Mrs Andersons in the evening I cut some tops 6 sticks and tobacco put up a stack of fodder etc

Fair We came home this evening

Fair I went to the B Green Mr Daniel spoke to the people a great speech – pulling fodder etc

Fair warn[m] finished pulling fodder this morning cutting tops worming & suckering tobacco etc

Cdy threatened to rain I went hunting in hanover saw H & Dr A & Dr G at Mr Gouldins Emily is quite sick put up a stack of fodder cutting tops tying up cut tobacco etc toped my stacks at the barn

Rain a little quite winday all day I went to the new ground for timber to make tobacco sticks I rove them out over 200 cutting tops finished hanging up tobacco and worming & suckering etc

Fair warm & windy I finished cutting tops this evening tying them up etc put up a stack of blades making 6 stacks in all the last

Fair very warm we went to T. Castle in the evening finished tying up my tops sent to TC for a wheat fan etc to J Dickinsons for Mama, bull patched up the stable put rose in it etc etc

Fair warm day Ella is at T. C. I went to Carmel Bro Harris preached Text 2 nd Chron 15 th chapter 12 th verse

Fair warm I got up before day and got up my tops fodder and put it on the rode - faning out my wheat faned 81 1/2 bu in all 74 1/2 red & 7 white halled a lode of oats to the house the last of the stack scotch oats

Fair very warm Mr Vass came up with 4 hands to help about my fodder finished the stack about diner time I gave Billy 12 1/2 cts faning out oats 21 bu cutting tobacco this evening etc Durriott finished takeing down the shop chimnies etc etc

Fair faned out my oats 68 bushels of ruffle oats ran the red wheat through again halled 2 lodes of chaf over home hung some tobacco etc

Fair very warm finished my wheat and sent the fan home cut some tobacco by the barn fixing some scaffols for corn to set up against I went to see Martin to get him to work on my barn floor

Fair very warm day Mr Martin and I lade the barn floor commenced work after breakfast commenced fallowing again for wheat commenced cutting down corn and halling it up halld 2 lodes of rails to the stack to make a corn pen

21nd Sat

Fair, warm day, We went to T. Castle. halling up corn cutting tobacco & cutting down corn etc

Fair cool day a drop or 2 of rain last night I went to Cty Line Bro Powel preached text 2 nd Thessalonians ct 1 st ct 7 th v

Fair cool day I went to the mill this morning to see about grinding some wheat etc sent a bushel of wheat to the mill and for my ploughs slabs etc halling corn cutting down & cut tobacco etc I hired Wash one week for $1.00

Fair I went by the mill and to T. Castle I saw Korb etc etc sent to mill for ploughs & flour cutting down corn halling pulling off corn shucking etc

Fair and winday the win blue down my stack finished fallowing commenced ploughing in the corn field pulling off corn cutting down etc shucking to night wormed & suckered my tobacco worked on my cart body a little

26 th Thu

Rainy morning it rained last night it wet the ground about 2 in – shucking corn halling etc Sowed turnip seed in the garden and turnip patch ploughing etc sent Bob To T Castle to have a tooth drawned

Fair cool. halling corn shucking raked over the fallow ground ploughing washed 2  1/2 bushels of wheat in salt and water

28 th Sat

Rainy day a good rain cool d I picked 2 1/2 bushels of wheat over to get out the onions & cockle etc [cockles were weeds 2 -3 feet high with pink and purple flowers] shucking corn etc etc

Fair very cool day I went to meeting at Mr Johnsons Bro Harris preached Text Matthew 26 ct last part of the 42 verse, thy will be done,

Wheat

Fair. A frost Sowed 3 1/2 bushels of wheat white on a fallow rakeing it in pulling corn of shucking etc to night John Wash is getting poles for a beaf house halled the poles etc [entry for 1 st September lined out]
