Fair a fine day Wash and I worked on the beef house till breakfast he went to work on the smiths shop with Cobbs etc finished rakeing the fallowed land, ploughing corn lan pulling off corn halled 3 lodes shucking at night etc

Fair. pulling off corn shucking tonight etc ploughing, I washed 4 bushels of wheat sowed 1 1/2 bushels rakeing it in on the new ground forward wheat I hooped a barrell cutting tobacco by the shop

Fair (I sowed 1/2 bushel of wheat) raked it in ploughing haling up corn & cutting down Corn by Canfields hung some tobacco this morning

Fair it Raned last night halling corn made a pen for corn ploughing brought over my tobacco and put it in the barn I went hunting with Dr G & Bro Saml – Lewis & killed a turkey

Fair I went to Muster at Chiles burg & mustered We went to T Castle in the evening paid my Tax Muster fine etc [fine for being absent from muster] sowed 2 bushels of wheat rakeing it in chopping around the stumps put up my short corn in a pen etc

Fair cool day I went to Carmel Bro Harris preached Text Luke 19 ct 41 & 42 verces. We came home in the evening

Fair I washed 3 1/2 bushels of wheat. Sent 2 bushels to Dr Anderson by John – {ploughing pulling off corn cut all of the tobacco at the house I started the Turkeys

Fair I went hunting killed 4 turkeys I gave Dr Gouldin one. 2 were tame ones. Mr martin and I raised the barn this evening ploughing halling out manure for wheat pulling off corn etc

Fair Tyree & John working on the barn underpinning it sowed 2 1/2 bushels of wheat halled out all the manure for wheat cutting down corn rakeing etc Let Fleming have ¾ pound of leather 18 ¾

Fair working on the house under pining sent Bob to the Drs for 2 bushels of white wheat halling up corn Sowed 2 bushels of white wheat by Canfields rakeing it in etc shucking corn etc bought a 1/2 bushel of sweet potatoes of Peter gave 25 cts.

Cdy a little rain. cool day. finished the wheat by Canfields shucking corn I sawed down & cut the cherry trees by the shop finished underpinning the barn this morning

Fair a frost I went hunting and killed a turkey in hanover by Coopers. fixed the tobacco in the barn moved out the cherry trees ploughed the land & sowed 1/2 a bushel of wheat and a little over shucking corn etc

13 th Sun

Fair a large frost. I spent the day at home went to Mama in the evening walked on the river

Rainy evening pulling off corn dug 14 bushels of Irish potatoes put them under the barn W Swann says he will take the hogs at 8 $ I gave W Harris Miss B Hills account 5$ 85 cts collected Pd him for getting out my wheat 6$24cts

A little showery in the evening very winday I sent corn & 6 bu of wheat to mill cotton etc cutting down corn halling shucking etc ploughing the potatoe patch

Sowing

Fair finished sowing wheat in the potatoe patch dug 1 bushel potatoes halling up cotton pulling off etc I sowed 13 1/2 bushels of wheat sowed 5 1/2 of red shuck the balance foreward wheat

Fair I went to Bro Saml. and carryed his cow sent for cotton and flour from the mill halling up corn shucking etc We went to T. Castle in the evening

18 th F

Rainy till 2 Oclock a heavy rain we came up home this evening Dr Anderson came up from Richmond he pd me Toms board 20$. shucking corn pulling off etc

19 th Sat

Fair W Smith came for wheat 10 bu and 9 hogs I went to Mr Tompkins for 15 bu wool Pd $5.62 1/2 cts for the wool cutting down corn halling up Thomasia went to T. Castle to stay.

Fair cool day a frost I went to Carmel Bro Harris preached Text John 19 th ct part of the 30 th verse (it is finished)

Rainy evening cool frost I came up home took my tools out of the shop and put them in my barn halled 2 lodes of corn shucking etc

Rain a little cutting down corn halling up shucking etc {I went to T Castle Dr Phillips was at T. C. I put Harry in the pasture Miss B Hill has had 17 lbs butter

Cdy day I came up home with Llewellyn from T Castle finished halling up my corn – finished shucking, working on the beef house takeing the timber out the scrap house Tom dined hear to day Winston came by this morning to see pistol. etc

Fair halling rails for a hog pen making a hog shelter for hogs to sleep in rakeing leaves halled one lode Llewellyn [oldest son, then 5 years old] had a fall on his nose we went to T. Castle

Fair warm. W Harris sowed his wheat by the shop halling rails to the stack dug my Mercer potatoes made 7 bushels put them in the seller halling leaves to hog house & barn etc

26th Sat

Fair a fine day made a hog pen diging up the yard at the shop for manure halling it to the stack etc I went to T. Castle in the evening put up my timber in the barn

27 th Sun

Cdy I went to Cty Line Bro Lewin preached Text Malachi 3 ct 16 th verse went back to T C J Noel dined at T Castle

Rain I came up home after breakfast Linnaeus came up from Richmond, this morning halling the dirt all day from the shop diging it up etc

Fair cool day finished halling the dirt sawing down some pines for stocks on the rode where I got ice, rakeing leaves I went to mill saw Canfield I went to T. Castle by Mr Martains etc etc etc

Fair I went to Bro Saml Thomas went over we went hunting for birds & turkeys in Dr Terrells & around about – I came home to diner sawing of stocks rakeing leaves etc

31 st Thursday 21 bu

Fair a killing frost the ground froze diging Irish potatoes dug 21 bushels put them in the seller I went to T. Castle at night Tate put up a corn house for Ma.
