Rain I came up from T. Castle and went to Goldans ville to the election & voted for Clay etc [Whig Henry Clay was defeated by Democrat James K. Polk] Finished diging potatoes dug 19 1/2 bushels put them under the barn I went to T Castle last night etc I made 105 bushels of Potatoes. |

Fair I came up from TC. With Llewellyn. Bro Saml came to Mama, this evening. I commenced listing for corn by Cobbs grubbing etc commenced halling over my corn to the barn halled 2 loads 3 1/2 bls in a load making 7 bls put up my hogs 8 in number |

Fair a large frost a crust on the ground I went to T. Castle in the evening Camilus is very sick halling corn put up 3 lodes of the long corn to day halling the short corn 2 loads put the seed corn in my barn I dug out a hog troft to water my hogs in Dr Gouldin went to the T Yard & to his Fathers |

Fair I came up from T Castle Tom came up with Llewellyn this evening to stay all night I took a bea hive finished halling up the corn grubbing & ploughing this evening by Cobbs finished covering the hog shelter |

Fair Tom & E.T. Redd dined hear to day went to the mill to see about my plough killed 2 squirs [squirrels] I went to Castle in the evening sent a rope by Edmond to S. Redd. Grubbing by cobbs etc |

Fair I came up home in the morning & went to Verdon to a funeral of Bro Camilus Anderson who died yesterday 12 ock [Camillus Cinicinnatus Anderson, 1822-1844] halled 3 stocks to the mill cutting grubbing etc |

Fair I came up home Dr Gouldin came up from B Green this evening – halled 3 logs to the mill cutting grubbing Bob greesed my harness I patched it up malling this evening |

Castle home with S Gouldin from S Redds Bob broke my moal board to my double plough he went to cutting pines malling rails rakeing leaves etc I went hunting with Tom B killed 2 squirls spent the night at T Castle Dr John Anderson went from T Castle to day he came yesterday to Toping Castle [estate in Caroline County] |

Fair a large frost I saw some ice I came up from T Castle after breakfast Cousin Edward Radford and sister went from Mamas this morning saw Dr Gouldin at Ma, malling rails cutting rail timber rakeing leaves sent the Dr, horse home this evening |

Fair halled 2 loads of leaves in the hog pen made a cow pen etc malling rails cutting grubbing etc W Harris pd me for the things I bought for him & one dolar over he got his caps John & Jimma & Tom dined hear to day I had my horse shod at the mill in front 2 shoes I went to T Castle in the evening there were 2 negroes burnt to death by Terrells mill |

Rainy day Canfield came to see me about pigs & [cumper cis?] I have kept the house the most of the day Miss Riddle is very sick making the fence at the stack commenced diging out the seller under the barn halled a lode leaves |

The rain stoped this morning had a fair day afterwards quite warm & winday moved the fence by the cow pin finished it and made a new cow pen etc rakeing leaves etc I went to T. Castle. |
