Fair a fine day Mr Martin and Richard about the rafters and halling logs to the mill planting corn finished to the cherry tree planted pumpkins seed in the corn field ploughing rakeing fallowing for potatoes I set out some apple trees etc I have peas fit to eat in the garden

Rain in the evening warm day Mr Martin & Richard halling plank from the mill and putting up the rafters Dr Gouldin came over to day we went hunting for crows fallowing halling manure from the shop I planted pumpkin seed in the corn field

Rain in the evening about sun set. I went to Wairs for a coat pd for it I went to T Castle & Bro Samls for 13 lbs nails borrowed them halled 2 loads plank from the mill halling manure ploughing by the house and garden fallowing for potatoes let White have 2 bu potatoes

Fair warm I went to Carmel Bro Haris preached Text Psalms 19 chapter 145h verce Thomasia went to T Castle in the morning with Tom I went from meeting Mr Martin & Dick did not work halling manure Lode of the pumpkin patch making the hill Pd Dick 75 cts for potatoes

Rain in the evening we went to Dr Gouldins Dick worked till breakfast and wient with us. I killed 4 crows in hanover finished fallowing for potatoes ploughed a pea patch watermelon patch etc putting manure in the pumpkin patch etc

Fair I went to Richmond on the cars [train] started at Hewlett planting pumpkin seed halling out manure etc Richard working at the house

A few drops of rain I spent the day in Richmond staid at Dandridges ploughing halling manure scattering etc Mr Martin & Dick about the house I spent 100.$ in Richmond

Fair warm d Dick worked till diner & went home Mr Martin went to Richmond ploughing scattering manure grubbing etc picked over the tobacco patch etc I sent my Deed by Richard to the Boling Green

Rain a little to day I stayed at home all day got some cherries etc

Fair I cleaned out the spring soaked some Alsop corn & planted it finished ploughing corn land rakeing ploughing etc commenced ree planting corn

Fair rained last night I set out some tobacco plants watered them etc finished planting corn ree planting corn etc ploughing the potatoe patch etc halled out a lode of ashes etc William Swann came to look at a pig

Fair warm d I sent to the Depot for my things ree planting corn ploughing potatoe patch on the hill I plastered my pumpkin patch killed 2 crows Richard jointing shingles etc

Fair thundered a good deel a drop or 2 of rain Mr Martin & Dick shingling I went to the mill for Llewellyn I turned out Mr Gouldin’s hog altered him

Fair, warm d Mr Martin & self shingling nearly finished. Dick went home this evening halling manure to the potatoe patch set out 2 squirs in the garden in greens finished ploughing the potatoe patch ploughing the sweet potatoe patch commenced planting Irish potatoes by Dabs planted 1/2 bu

Fair the most of the day a small shower Mr Martin finished shingles cut out the doar facead [fasciaed?] it etc Thomasia & Tom went to T Castle in the morning I went in the evening Planted Irish potatoes finished two patches planted 10 1/2 bushels to day brakeing out balks etc

Rain in the evening I went to Carmel Bro Harris preached text Romans 6 th ct last part of the 23 verse Dr Buttler & wife dined at T Castle

Rain a little in the evening We went to the party at Mrs Swann’s planting Irish potatoes set out tobacco plants finished by the shop planted 5 1/2 bu to day potatoes

Rainy day & not much rain Canfield pointed & straped 2 ploughs & mended 2 teeth in cultivater I borrowed Mama,s mule to plough ploughing by the barn for tobacco halling & scattering manure moved out the fence hilling potatoe hills etc Hal had 8 pigs

Fair planted 1 bu yellow sweet potatoes hilling etc ploughing tobacco patches by the barn finished set out plants on the swamp watered them etc finished takeing away the rails at the stack. commenced weeding corn I put up the pig by the kitchen

Fair Scattered the manure at the stack ploughing it weeding corn halled out the rottin potatoes out of the shop I made a bea hive I lent Bro Saml my gig & harness we dined at Mama,s planted my cow peas etc etc [black-eyed peas]

Fair warm ploughing the potatoe patch & corn weeding corn etc Mr Martin [bled?] my house to day Lewis Redd came over

Fair very warm planted my mercer potatoes [flat, kidney-shaped potatoe with slight pinkish cast to tapered end—per www.motherearthnews.com] weeding corn replanting peas etc We went to T Castle in the evening

Rain a little in the evening I spent the day at T Castle corn plowing etc Bet had 12 pigs the 5 th litter 2 died

Rain a little replanting tobacco chopped over the ground by the barn I came up home with Mr Terrell I went back to T Castle came up this evening

Fair weeding corn in the corner by Canfields Mr Martin went to Mr Terrells to work Dick came this evening

Fair very warm Richard & self halling logs 2 lodes with the carry-log weeding corn sent to mill Mrs Dandridge came up this evening

Rain a fine one Thomasia & self went to Mr Gouldins to have a coat cut out stade to diner weeding corn Martha lade up finished planting tobacco turned out a hog out of the corn field marked him

Rain showery replanted tobacco set out potatoes replanted pumpkins etc fencing up to the shop halling manure & putting it around the hills of the corn Dick went to Taylors Ville I pade him $6.80 cts
