Rainy day halled 2 loads of wood ploughing striping tobacco etc ploughing on the swamp fronting the house Dr G says there are 100 hogs at Depot.

Rain a little fine rain halled 5 lodes of leaves, 2 of wood. sent Billy to Depot for hogs gave Dr Gouldin 20$ to pay for hogs rakeing leaves etc

Cdy most of the day I went to Dr Gouldins weighed the hogs mine weighed 519 lbs brought it over in the boat Dr went to pay for the hogs halled one or 2 lodes leaves lode wood ploughing front of house across swamp rakeing leaves etc I went to the mill commenced on my corn shelled a turn

Rain fine rain I cut out 3 hogs drove hogs salted them sent a turn of corn to the mill sent 4 hogs to Canfield he is to pay $1.00 or $1.25 cts to a piece – got my bench from Canfield’s that Anna gave me – ploughed the land from the house to swamp halled 3 lodes of leaves rakeing etc I made a troft for the calvs etc

Rain in the morning clear evening I made 2 braces for Winston for which he is to pay $1.00 – sent 2 1/2 bu wheat to the mill for Xmas for the negroes cutting & halling wood ploughing this evening

Fair cool day I spent the day at home paid Peter 75 cts for Old Milly he is to pay 12 1/2 cts to her for me.

Fair cold morning a very large frost Lucius came up this morning Tom dined hear & Sister Sarah & Louisa I went to Sis Cobbs – ploughing by Cobbs malling rails

Cdy a flake or 2 of snow very cold day indeed. I went by T. Castle & to Mr Buttlers to get Miss L Chiles to make a coat Tom went over to Bro Saml with me. I received 4 bonds amounting to 281.78 cts I saw some of the largest turnips I ever saw in my life at S. Redd, cutting halling wood shelling corn etc

Fair a smart thor warm evening Tom & Lewis came up to go hunting they killed 2 hares dined hear to day – I worked on a shelter for calvs killed 2 hogs this morning halling wood rakeing leaves sent to mill

Fair cool I cut out 2 hogs weighed them weighed 161 lbs went to the mill for a lode of slabs for the calf house carried corn for chop I had my mair shod all round halling leaves cutting rakeing leaves etc I finished the beef shelter this evening

Fair & mild we came up home this evening Tom came up for my Dog & gun we went hunting killed a squirl I saw Munrow Anderson at T. Castle.

Rain half of the day & snow the balance of the day an owl killed a duck set a trap for him etc caught him

A flake or 2 of snow Dr M Anderson Mr Nowel Mr Dandridge & the girls came up & dined went hunting etc Ed & Lewis Redd are hear to night I sent by Dandridge for 100 bu bran Iron moalboard tumblers etc etc

Fair We went to Bro Saml spent the night I went to Mr Burkleys pd Billys hire 45$ hired a boy of A Dick cutting rail timber etc

Fair we came home this morning Bro Saml came over & dined hear I killed a turkey weighed 10 lbs cutting rails timber ploughing new ground - - the past summer was a very dry one indeed but small crops of corn etc made
