fair cold day west wind fencing commenced on the rode halling rails ploughing J came home home 2 ploughing malling rails cutting made a pen for the sheep and patched up the shelter halling wood

fair very cold day west wind fencing malling rails I went to T Castle staid all night 2 malling rails cutting rail timber getting wood halling etc Sent Robert to Wm,s for an axe

3rd F

cdy day cold a south wind fencing cutting tail timber malling etc came home from T. C – I went to Carmel to a temperance meeting Brother Ball and Fox spoke I saw a peddler with clocks to day 6 persons joined the temperance [?] 2 malling rails cutting halling commenced laing the worm of the pasture fence

4th S

hailed snowed and rained a south wind clearing around the fence I went to Carmel Brother Ball preached tex Timothy 3 rd Ct 15 verse the last part I went to T Castle 2 malling rails commenced getting ice

5th Sun

rain in the morning west wind fair in the evening went to Carmel to meeting Brother Ball preached tex was in Romans the 8 th Ct part of the 28 and 29 verses

6th M

fair very cold and windy a west wind I came home fencing halling wood shelling corn I killed a hair I saw a great many robins this evening 2 malling rails cutting rail timber wood etc cleaned of the plant bed on the swamp

7th T

clear scarcely a cloud to be seen west wind very cold cutting wood hay etc and clearing around the fence I went to T Castle 2 malling rails cutting halling rails by  Canfields corner to my land

a little cdy cold a south east wind commenced cutting in the cut down pines Bob halling ice. burning brush I came home j went for my gloves and wool for Moriah to spinn for my gloves {the pines is on Sister Sarahs lot of land 2 getting ice it is 2 in thick

cdy and east wind cutting burning brush Bob is halling ice I went to T Castle, I saw hundreds of robins going to the rust [roost] by Walter Cobbs 2 halling ice getting wood finished the ice about dinner time

cdy rain in the night a south east win it blew very hard indeed cutting halling wood 2 loads I went to T. Castle Thomasia had her 2 nd daughter last night between 8 and 9 ock 2 burnt a plant bed on the swamp near the river getting wood etc 2 beds in all [daughter was Mary Elizabeth, 1843-1847]

11th S

fair a south west wind cutting came home brought Llewellyn home with me I went to T Castle with Ll. 2 cutting halling wood put the stacks that blew down

12th Sun

fair a south west wind I saw a fox in T Castle field staid all day at T Castle Mr Terrell came there

cdy cool day east or north east wind cutting and finished the dead pines I went to Cort collected 40$. Of Lewis Hill in part of Franks hire and 12. of W Quarles for the estate came home went to T.C. got 2 goos eggs 2 malling rails cutting rail timber halling rails etc

14th T

fine rain [freeses?] north east wind burning brush halling the wood off of the land that is to go in corn Thad is staying with me to night shelling corn 2 halling rails cutting rail timber malling rails clearning along the lins between Ma and myself.

15th W

rain in the morning snow about an inch or an inch and a half deep north and n w wind getting wood halling etc I saw a mink sent corn to the mill I went to T Castle 2 getting wood striping tobacco Robert went for the axes and oats

fair very cold north west wind malling wood halling it out I came home Ed C Taylor came to Mama to night caught a cat 2 getting wood handled an axe a sheep was killed last night by a dog or dogs

Cdy snowed a little very cold a north east and south west wind halling out the wood I went to TC carryed a plate of butter 2 getting wood cutting etc - Slash

18th S

fair a south wind came home halling the wood of the land to go in corn I went to T. C. in the evening 2 getting wood cutting on the line between Mama and self for the fence

Sun19 th

fair warm a south wind I went to Carmel to meeting Brother Harris preached Tex was in Psalms 73rd and 24th verse a large frost

rainy evening a north east wind warmer than it has been I commenced my fence by Canfields its raining in the evening prevented my finishing it – halling of the wood in the morning I came home this morning shel corn 2 finished clearing for the fence commenced fencing by Canfields shelling corn {the line between me & Ma

21st T

cdy it snowed last night small a west or south west wind fencing malling rails to finish the fence by Canfields halling rails etc I went to T Castle to see Thomasia Mr and Mrs Hatton were at T Castle 2 fencing by a line halling rails etc

rain in the morning and evening south east and south west wind halling rails finished the fence by Canfields I came home - - it lightened in the south to night a good deel Ed L Taylor came by mama and went to sermonds 2 shelling corn fencing halling Fleming went to Mr Gouldins this evening to ment bellus [mend bellows?] Ed C Taylor came over this evening to see his wife

23rd Th

cdy rather warm a south west wind fencing on the rode side of the woods on Sarah,s lot I went to T Castle 2 fencing got it high enough to keep the hogs from getting over

24th F

snow about 3 in deep (snowed last night commenced) a north east wind a sticky snow halling wood cutting rail timber I went to T Castle I gave the Dr a note to collect of Falkner 2 getting wood halling etc

fair a south wind warm the snow is nearly gone of cutting rail timber fencing Received of Henry Falkner 12$ for the estate of T. Redds I went to T Castle in the eve I sold E C Taylor 5 lbs butter for 1$ 2 fencing halling rails I paid Peter 36 cts for half soaling my negroes shoes

fair a south wind I went to Cty Line Brother Powel preached Lincous came up to day from Richmond frost

fair warm windy a south west wind fencing on the rode I came home trimed out the bushes out of the rode out to the main road 2 I finished the fence on the line between me and Mama (trimed on the line and staked it of halling rails from the new ground on the line by Thackers) halling fodder top and leaves in the ice house ploughing this evening grubing etc Thacker commenced his fence or commenced halling rails for it

28th T

Snow commenced in the evening small snow 1/2 inch deep a north wind cool windy fencing between this and the rode shelling corn I went to T Castle 2 halling rails from the new ground by the spring Peter is using my cart running 2 carts one broke sent it to Mr Gouldins Fleming malling rails sowed a plant bed, the first, on the swamp near the river
